Central City, but not the Central City that you might think it is. The year? 2040, about 25 years into the future. Not a ton was different except that Central City expanded a bit more, some renovations were done but the biggest thing above all else is the people. A whole new generation was walking the floor of the city. And not just Central City, but Star City, Gotham City, Metropolis, it was a whole new generation. But your heroes still existed in Batman, Superman, Green Arrow, The Flash - pretty much the entire Justice League. Except the people behind the masks aren't exactly the same people you know as the heroes of 2015. Who are they? Well that's another discussion for another time but there's a bigger story at large here. We're not in Kansas anymore.
The lighting was timid, about evening time in Central City. Cars moved off the road as the giant ape known to the public as Gorilla Grodd whom was in the midst of a get away , stealing some chemicals, deadly chemicals, for something that he was working on that was definitely not kosher. So Wally was chasin' him but man, this gorilla was tough. Wally couldn't help but wonder how his Uncle fought this guy twenty five years ago. But in the midst of this chase, man, things got weird. The skies started to turn dark, lighting and thunder were striking in the sky as it filled up in a huge hurry. Wally just shrugged it off as another storm but that was until a loud >CRACK< type of a sound landed when the lightning struck right in front of Wally and the next thing he knew... things were different.
As Wally arrived right after that strike of lightning, he looked around as the power of the entire town just went black. Buildings and street lights shutting down in groups at a time, to create a giant city wide black out. People on the streets didn't seem to pay any attention to Wally as he stood there in his awesome red and silver outfit. But the people on the street began to panic from the huge blackout that seemed to come from the storm, making the people run in fear because these were not normal. Not to them anyway.
Wally stopped as he looked around wondering what had just happened. The strangest thing was this didn't look like Central City anymore. Wally didn't recognize anything.
ANYTHING!
It was crazy, man. The skies were dark, Grodd was nowhere in sight. The city's backup generators kicked on in a hurry and when the town lit up again that's when it clicked... somehow Wally ended up in Terry's town. But how? Gotham wasn't just a hop, skip and a jump away... okay, maybe for Wally, but realistically this just wasn't right. Not even Wally was THAT fast. Something was definitely not right here. Couldn't put his finger on it but there was just an unsettling feeling in his stomach. He knew he wasn't home, and he just KNEW this wasn't Terry's town but yet... it was Gotham.
Wally was so, so confused. It was then he walked by a store that had some televisions in the window with the news playing. The date was in the corner.
7/15/15
Wally just shook his head, muttering "No Way" to himself. But if this truly WAS 2015 he had to remember what happened in this year, around this time from his history class when he was in school because it seemed so familiar to him like it was resting on the edge on his tongue. But that was when the news caster said something that really caught Wally's attention."Folks, if you're just joining us we've just recovered from a city wide black out here in Gotham City. We haven't seen anything like this in some time, and our meteorologist, Chuck Appergreen, has said it could have been a cause by the freak electrical storm that we just had that appeared to be just an ordinary storm at first. Authorities believe this may be the work of The Joker, plotting for another terrorist-like attack on Gotham City. You are all advised to get indoors, lock all of your doors and windows and stay in there until the Authorities give clearance as they begin to patrol the streets of Gotham."It was almost surreal what was happening. But then it clicked... Wayne. Bruce Wayne, the original Batman, a man that Wally met as an older gentleman that gave he an Terry advice from his experience in the field. This... this was the day and year that Bruce Wayne came back but the public didn't know it yet. If there was anybody that could help right now, it would be him.""HEEELP! HE STOLE MY PURSE! SOMEBODY HELP ME! STOP HIM!"And just as Wally was beginning to piece things together, he heard the cries of a woman in need. A simple crime, no real threat but no crime should ever go unpunished. And in the blink of an eye he ran, a red streak followed closely behind him and it seemed as if in just a split second, the woman had her purse back and the perp was tied up to the bench. But one thing struck Wally as he did this and he instantly got really worried. Really, REALLY worried. The man that sat across the street in the diner.. he sat with Commissioner Gordon... who was supposed to be dead. But that man was so young but so familiar... Wally recognized him but couldn't put his finger on it. Wally instantly knew that this was bad. He needed to get out of here and in a hurry before he took any chances of really altering his future and the only place he could go to be safe, and to figure out the situation--WAYNE MANOR

Wally just absolutely could not believe it. He couldn't believe what had happened. First minute he was chasing Gorilla Grodd in 2040, and now the 24 year old Wally West has found himself in the year 2015, one year before he was even born. He traveled through time, somehow, someway and then to make things even more interesting... he saved an older woman from a purse snatcher. A small crime but a crime none the less and Wally had to take care of it. But in doing so he was spotted by Gordon who in Wally's time was supposed to be dead and another guy that he just... couldn't put his finger on and it scared the man half to death. Why did the guy with Gordon look so familiar? And why did he seem so... so out of place? Like this guy didn't belong here either. As we had discovered with Barry, he runs so fast that it looks like everything around him is moving either extremely slow or not at all. This was the case right now. Wally was moving so fast he was able to see them looking but they had no idea who... or what-- Wally is/was. So he took off before anything more could happen. He needed to find a safe place, a comforting place. Somewhere with somebody that he knew he could trust. But his arrival didn't come so smooth. A blackout was caused by a freak electrical storm.
It was crazy and unlike anything Gotham City had seen before... or at least in a LONG time, ya know?
[[Wallace]]: Man I hope I'm right about my history. I really shoulda paid more attention when I was in school! Because if he's not back yet then I'm going to be in a world of hurt. Speaking of... I need to find to change. Running around Gotham City like this is going to get people wondering and that'll be no bueno. Good thing I've still got this ring that Uncle Ba--- that he ga-- no.... no way. NO WAY! THATS' why he looked so familiar! That's him! ... but.. but... he's MY AGE! Holy crap holy crap holy crap holy crap! I need to find Batman and now!
Wally ducked into a near by alley way and when he was looking around to make sure that nobody was around but then he saw the sign... "Crime Alley" and he just shook his head.
[[Wallace]]: Man.. that would be just my stinkin' luck!
Wally uses his speed to get out of his suit and then the suction of the ring he was given as a younger man when his abilities came to be suctioned the suit in. Wally needed to get to Wayne Manor and he needed to do it fast. Bruce Wayne, Batman, he's about the only man that Wally can think of to help him right now. But he's been gone for so long, even he may have some trouble helping but there's no other option. So with the suit tucked away into the ring, Wally took off running towards Wayne Manor, towards Bruce Wayne. Wally needed to be right about this. Wally being here could already drastically change the future as he knows it if he doesn't return home.
It takes about ten minutes, give or take due to the size of Gotham City and that Wayne Manor was just on the outskirts of the city, within city limits, but Wally arrives. He stops by the front gate before entering and takes it all in before pressing the buzzer at the side.
>BZZZZZZZ<

Hearing the door-bell ring echo, I quickly looked off to Alfred as he returned a glance in my direction. I hadn't been back long enough to draw attention of my return.. I knew that for a fact. The only other person who knew I was here was Selina- maybe John Blake as well, but I knew neither would say anything. No matter how angry I was at Selina, I trusted her.
"Expecting visitors Master Bruce?"
I didn't reply, I just slowly stood up from my seat and looked toward the door, interested. Moving slowly so my footsteps didn't make too much noise, I approached the door and peaked through the lense and saw some kid, in his 20s. I nodded in Alfred's direction as he came over and also looked through at the young man, I stepped back- a safe distance from the doorway which Alfred followed.
"The last thing we need is any more attention, I'm trying to fly under the radar. Whoever that is, he saw the car out front, see what he needs"
"Are you sure Master Bruce? I don't question you often, but this seems highly.. highly.. unnecessary."
"Maybe the kid is lost, this city has enough problems- another robbery due to a tourist not knowing where he's at wouldn't be a good headline in The Gazette, especially when the heir to the Wayne fortune- Alfred Tenpenny didn't give him the time of day."
"Very well.. keep yourself out of sight, I'll make haste.."
Concealing myself behind the door that'd lead into the grand kitchen area, I pressed my back flush against the wood, all as I heard Alfred open the door.
"Can I help you lad?"
"I'm hoping so Alfred. I'm looking for Bruce, he back from El Salvador yet or am I a few days off from my calculations?"
Almost like getting hit in the stomach with a sledgehammer, I almost lost all the breath in my lungs- a truly shocking turn of events. The young man had an edge to him just from the way he spoke, he didn't even wait to be invited in and moved past Alfred and headed toward the overstuffed sofa sitting in the living room. Kicking his feet up on the table, he gazed in the direction I was hiding, all as he left Alfred speechless from his remark and actions.
"Excuse me? Master Bruce has been buried next to his parents up on the hill to the left of the Manor. I have no idea what this El Salvador nonsense you're speaking of is about, I can assure you that it's been a painful process since losing him."
"Dude.. Bruce Wayne isn't dead- He's.."
Smiling, he opened his hands up and put them next to his face as his eyes went wide.
"BATMAN!"
I swallowed hard, I felt the lump in my throat now. With a deep sigh, I almost gave away my position but kept my composure, knowing that if anyone could handle the pressure of the situation, it was Alfred. He was a rock- an oak, even. He never broke under pressure, he kept calm and could spin a story like no other.
"Sir, I assure you that the remains of Master Bruce has been laid to rest next to his mother and father. I'm only here because I was alerted that there was a possible squatter attempting to takeover the property.. I was getting ready to head back to London."
"That was Selina Kyle right? She left Bruce high and dry in Florence, came back to Gotham- been hitting everywhere from Central City to Metropolis? Sad it didn't work out for them there, they would of been the big 'it' couple for the media.. if of course, the media knew Bruce is/was The Bat and Selina is The Cat.. Wait.. The Bat and The Cat, no wonder they're drawn to each other! Makes sense!"
The kid had an arrogance to him, it was funny. I had to put my clenched fist in front of my mouth to conceal the laughter, but at the same time I was truly taken back by his plethora of information regarding who I was, and of course about Selina. To the regular world, Selina Kyle didn't exist and Bruce Wayne was dead. I knew that whoever this kid was, he wasn't part of the 'normal demographic' he knew things he shouldn't. Before Alfred could continue to try and persuade the kid, I stepped out from my position- Alfred's eyes went wide as he pointed in my direction.
"I'd like you to meet Bale Christopher, an actor that will be starring in a movie documenting Master Bruce's li-"
Waving Alfred off, it didn't need to be done, I wasn't trying to be rude neither. I appreciated his effort to try and keep things going but it was of no reason, whoever this kid was, there was no fooling him. Being in his presence, he had a different vibe, it was hard to explain. Looking over at him, the kid didn't even look surprised when I popped out from the corner.
"Let's skip past the introductions and formalities- who are you and how do you know so much? You've got my attention now."
I stood there with my arms crossed over my chest as I tilted my head back, gazing in the man's direction, impressed. He knew his stuff and it wasn't one of those theorists, he obviously had a source of information and the way he said things, I had a hunch that this kid knew a lot more than what he presented.

[[Wallace]]: Excellent! You've made the right decision, my friend! OH! You should totally show me the Batcave! I'd love to see the retro version!
[[Bruce]]: First of all... no. But I suggest you start talking, and quick.
[[Wallace]]: Quick? Oh I can do that! What's this do?!
Wally starts to speed run through the room, touching everything he can, and he keeps asking "What's this do?" or "What about this!?". In the Wayne Manor, he was a lot more relaxed than when we first encountered Wally because he knows where he's at. Of course he still wants.. needs, to get home, but once Bruce hears his story, Wally just knows that there's not going to be a problem so he's just messing around. All the while, making Bruce more and more annoyed. Wally was just running back and forth, all around. It did surprise Bruce at first, Alfred too, the great speed this kid had. He didn't get it. How the hell could somebody be as fast as he was? Well, no matter. After all, Bruce dealt with a clown trying to take over, he's dealt with the monster known as Bane, and the League of Assassin’s so in retrospect, a guy that could run faster than the speed of light really can’t be THAT far of a stretch. Then again, Bruce has also been in El Salvador for the past couple of years so he didn’t really know about a whole lot going on, being as far away from technology that he could.
[[Bruce]]: ENOUGH!
Wally stopped in his tracks. Bruce didn’t raise his voice often but this kid knew who he was.. he knew he was The Bat and it was more than just having his attention, Bruce wanted answers and he wants them now.
[[Bruce]]: If you know that I’m the Batman, than you should know enough about me to know that I’m really not a patient man when people know things that they aren’t meant to know. Now, I said you have my attention so kid, the floor is yours. Speak.
[[Wallace]]: Alright, alright. What’s with that expression on your face, though? Never seen The Flash?
[[Bruce]]: The… Flash?
[[Alfred]]: He recently saved the world from a black hole over Central City, Master Bruce.
[[Wallace]]: Aaahhh I guess that’s what happens when you’re in technology exile for as long as you were. Guess ya don’t know about the other two playboy billionaires putting on suits and becoming heroes too, do ya?
[[Bruce]]: I see. And what do you mean… others?
[[Wallace]]: Oh yeah1 One dresses with a hood and shoots green arrows and the other built a suit and can shrink.
Bruce taken a bit back now. His eyes and his mind are open. And all he could think of was… just who the hell is this kid?
[[Wallace]]: I guess you don’t know about the guy in the red cape throwing tankers around like softballs, either.
[[Bruce]]: … Alfred, what’s he talking about?
[[Alfred]]: Superman, sir.
[[Bruce]]: ... Superman?
[[Alfred]]: Long story, Master Bruce. There’s a lot you’ve missed.
[[Bruce]]: Alright, fair enough. So we’ve got a billionaire that shoots arrows and wears a hood. Another billionaire built his own suit… and can shrink, and there’s this… Flash, who can run as fast as the speed of light and… you… who can apparently do the same thing but you know who I am and who Selena Kyle is. So I want to know who you are, where you’re from and how you know.
[[Wallace]]: Ya sure you’re ready for all of this, old man?
This cockiness based on his comfort level was definitely interesting. Bruce and Alfred had no idea on how to react to him. But Bruce was all ears.
[[Wallace]]: Alright alright alright. So.. basically.. like… I’m from the future.
[[Bruce]]: The future?
[[Wallace]]: 2040 to be exact, You’re…
[[Bruce]]: No.
Bruce interrupted Wally right there, stopping him in his tracks.
[[Wallace]]: I thought you wanted to know about… well, me.
[[Bruce]]: I do, but I want you to tell the version that doesn’t involve me. If you’re really from the future, you could be causing a butterfly effect just being here. So why are you here in 2015 and why are you here at my house? How did you know I’d be here?
[[Wallace]]: I knew you’d be here because when you let the world know you were back, you told the world in an interview on live television when you got back. And in my time, you’re a legend, man! You’re The Bat! But you’re old. Couldn’t help it when I was running around here. I was mostly lookin’ for the grey hairs. Lookin’ good ol’ Brucie-boy. Lookin’ good!
[[Bruce]]: So why are you here, then, and who are you?
[[Wallace]]: I guess my name first would have been good, huh? Name’s Wallace, man. But you can call me Wally. And truth be told, dude? I don’t know why I’m here. One minute I was chasin’ a telepathic, overgrown gorilla named Grodd, and the next thing I knew.. I was back here. Kinda freaked me out, actually. Not gonna lie!
[[Bruce]]: Okay, so why me?
[[Wallace]]: Because you’re the world’s greatest detective, man! Not just in the future, but even now! And I knew if there was any man that could get the job done, even if he’s been livin’ in El Salvador the past three years, it’d be you. I certainly couldn’t go see The Flash, the dude with the arrows is really hard to get a hold of.. though his girlfriend is pretty hot. The dude with the suit, right now, as far as people know is dead so there’s no telling where he’s at…
[[Bruce]]: But if you’re from the future, wouldn’t you know where he’s at just like you did me?
[[Wallace]]: You’re right… I should… but I don’t. Look, don’t judge me, man! I only got a C in history! Besides, he’s just good with money and electronics, not detectiving stuff. And the guy in the red cape and blue jump suit with the giant S on his chest just wants to show off his strength. He’d be no help.
[[Bruce]]: Okay, so why can’t you go to the Flash? I’m trying to figure out why exactly you came to me.
[[Wallace]]: It’s really hard to say, man, without giving a whole lot of the future away. Needless to say, he’s from Central City.. and so is my uncle. But my uncle Barry is about my age right now and I managed to see him with Gordon at the Gotham Diner when I was stoppin’ a purse snatcher. When I seen that I had to take off, dude. It was way too close and I had to come here right after. But he’s a smart guy. Top notch forensic scientist. If I left anything behind, he’ll be able to use science and numbers and stuff to figure it all out. Look man, you’re the best of the best. Everybody looks up to you. Well… The Bat. Where I come from, you’re a legend and I need your help to get back home.
[[Bruce]]: I don’t know what much I can do for you… Wally, was it? But you seem to know things that nobody else should know besides those that I want to know. In the mean time, you stay here. The place is plenty big, until we can get this all sorted out. You stay hidden. Alfred here will take care of whatever you need, you just let him know. You cannot and I repeat CANNOT interact with anybody else! Just stopping that purse snatcher almost got you caught by your uncle. What was his name, Barry? Now.. if Barry is supposed to be in Central City, why is he here?
[[Wallace]]: Because he’s so damn good as his job, really. Gordon hit ‘em up, wanted his help on a case that GCPD forensics were having trouble with. And of course The Bat’s not really around to help out. So he’s here in Gotham on… on job related business.
[[Bruce]]: I understand. Alrght, so you’ll stay here then and go nowhere. Just that purse snatcher could have changed everything in your time and we want to do that as little as possible, causing as minimal damage as we can. Every minute your here could be devastating back in your time. Everybody you know may be dead, thanks to stopping that purse snatcher. You should have just let him take it.
[[Wallace]]: I couldn’t do that, man! She was like, 95! No way she could defend herself!
[[Bruce]]: Everything happens for a reason and if he stole a purse from an old woman, it was probably meant to happen. Alfred, I need to look at some things and figure some stuff out. Would you please so kind as to show our guest to his room? He looks about like my size, he can have some of my clothes for a change.
[[Alfred]]: Very good, Master Bruce. Shall I start dinner?
[[Bruce]]: You know what, Alfred? That sounds great. A real dinner would be amazing. Thank you. Wally, enjoy your stay. But if you go ANYWHERE you know what can happen.
[[Wallace]]: Ooooooh yeah. KABLAMO!
Bruce walks off, going down a hallway just outside of the room as Alfred and Wally watch on, and Alfred mutters so himself.
[[Alfred]]: It’s good to have you back, sir.
[[Wallace]]: DUDE! THIS PLACE IS HUGE! ECHO! ECHO! ECHO! ECHO! ECHO!
Skepticality was still running wild in Bruce, you could tell. But the kid knew too many details to not be telling the truth. Especially with all that's happened since Bruce was gone. What other choice did he have?

Whatever I heard in the last half an hour or so was.. insane. I was supposed to believe that while I was gone, Metropolis was basically touched by a god, a man in a red cape that threw tankers like Hot Wheels around? That there was two billionaire playboys- one that shoots arrows and another that shrinks himself in a synthetic suit? And of course, the best of all- a time-traveling speedster who's the nephew of another speedster that moves quicker than the speed of light? It was crazy talk, I had trouble processing everything, especially with the lingering thought of Selina running through Gotham while robbing houses. There was a lot on my plate and I didn't even come out to the public as alive yet, that'd be an entirely different nightmare.
"Time to go fishing."
Despite the knowledge this Wallace West had regarding my life, I doubt he knew the secrets of Wayne Manor- something that was held close to the chest and unless you were named Alfred, had no idea about. Navigating through the study, I stopped at the book-case and took a second to take it all in. Since my return to Gotham it's been nothing but issue after issue- I didn't have time to sit back and plan things out but Wally made mention of me speaking via interview to the city, letting them know I was still alive.. maybe not a bad idea to think. Reaching my hand out though, I grabbed the black leather spine of "Fall of the House of Usher" by Edgar Allan Poe which kicked in a mechanism to spin the book-case and send me into another room. Stepping off of the platform, the bookcase put itself into position as I reached out and flicked the light-switch- electricity didn't need to be turned out as I ran things through a set of emergency generators, I didn't want to tip any off on my return.
"Voice activation on."
>Authentication needed<
"Bruce Wayne."
>Authentication completed, welcome Mister Wayne<
It'd be a while since I used the security features that guarded my greatest secret, but it went off without a hitch. Another door opened, this time it was a quieter sliding of black metal as it led to a room that was attached to a gun metal colored elevator shaft. Once in, I cleared my throat and voiced up-
"Computer, take me down."
The elevator quickly begun to descend, I missed this. Years ago I had it done so hitting three keys on a piano would cue an opening near the study, but after Ra's tried to burn my house done I needed to take extra precautions to protect what was mine. Once I reached the bottom, I opened the cage door and stepped out, heading forward. It was dark down here, I don't know when the last time Blake had used The Cave, it'd be nice to see it again.
"Open."
I didn't need to worry about the vibrations catching Wallace's attention from down here as the doors slid open and exposed the one place that I could use to get away from the world- but not Alfred. The blue lightning was new, something that I didn't get the chance to see before I disappeared but it was a good look. The hue was dull, good to work in and comfortable for the eyes, especially when contrasting with the dark. Moving toward the computer, I caught notice of the suit sealed in the glass case.. just as I left it. Before attempting to find out whatever I could regarding the strange situations happening across the world, I moved to the case and eyed the suit, it was immaculate. I saw a few things that was different, it was a different shade of black-
"I see you notice the differences, Master Bruce."
"It's better down here, more comfy."
"We should host a superhero sleep-over, I'll make the s'mores."
With a laugh, I knocked my middle knuckle against the case and looked over in Alfred's direction.
"What'd Lucius do?"
"Modifications. Replaced the teflon to something a bit more complicated. Something of the nature of liquid based solidification that would completely remove blunt force trauma. In lesser terms, if someone attempts to punch you sir, they will most likely break their wrist."
"Excellent."
"He did line the armor with teflon to also make the suit bullet-proof, however there's always hiccups."
"Which would be..."
"The teflon would interfere with the other mod Mister Fox made in the event of automatic fire."
"Sounds more like a design flaw. Tell me again, what am I paying him for?"
"Because we adore his voice, sir."
"Sounds about right. Computer- log-in. Username; Bruce Wayne- password; Pennyworth."
"I am flattered Master Bruce. Who'd thought that years of changing soiled diapers and writing fictional notes to excuse you from class would have got me this great honor."
"You know what I like to say Alfred, you're the love of my life."
With a wink, I laughed as Alfred shared the motion. The computer's screen shot to life as across of it was a picture of The Bat logo.
"Computer- search for any odd occurrences in the last six months. Shows of superhuman strength, speed-"
Before I could finish the computer pulled up images of a man in a blue suit and red cape with black hair slicked off to the side with an "S" in the center of his chest.
"Who is that?"
"Superman, sir."
"Super-what?"
"Superman, Thee Guardian of Metropolis."
"I love how you say it like it's nothing new. Like Superguy has been around for years and we're old pals. Computer, scan social media accounts for physical likeliness matching to.. Superman."
>Scan complete, no matches available<
"Impossible.. Rerun search."
>Scan complete, no matches available<
"I tried Master Bruce, whoever Superman is, he makes sure to keep a clean digital footprint."
"Computer, pull up video of Superman in action."
>Scan complete, video 1 of 1,404,939,394,949,333,340,011,942<
.. I never heard a number as big in my life and was left speechless to be honest. Snapping back into reality, I came to my senses quickly..
"Cancel video playback. Search for reports of superhuman behavior but omit results attached to Superman."
>Scan complete. Reports indicate superhuman soldiers attacking Starling City under the influence of experimental drug; Mirakuru. Imperial Japanese Army secretly manufactured a super-soldier serum during the events of World War 2, fearing they were not physical equipped for an American on-ground invasion<
"Alfred- what exactly happened since I've been gone?"
Mirakuru?! Superguy?! I know that I was gone but this was.. crazy, there's no way I could have missed this much without hearing about it from where I was. I kept up to date with Gotham's events, but something like a super-soldier serum being distributed and used against Starling City would be international headlines, I couldn't believe it.
"To be frank sir, a lot. I take no pride in shocking you, so my entertainment, please continue."
.. that wasn't good, what else could there be!?
"Uhh.. Computer, continue with search results."
>Reports of a superhuman based out of Amnesty Bay range back to 2008 but marked classified."
"By who?"
>A.R.G.U.S<
"Who!?"
>Advanced Research Group Uniting Superhumans<
"Wow."
Speechless.. just.. speechless. I had equipped the computer with the most powerful processors known to men, I had Lucius set the software so it could penetrate any government file but this was something I didn't expect. My whole life, I used money and technology to get by- especially as The Bat.. but there's a group of.. superhumans who are gifted enough to do things without it!? This was surreal, something I couldn't believe and honestly, didn't want to. I could only imagine how much trouble it'd be trying to apprehend someone who could throw a tanker- or move at the speed of light.
"Continue with search results."
"Oh, it gets even better Master Bruce."
"You're joking with me Alfred."
>Superhuman behavior in Amnesty Bay reported but unconfirmed. Witnesses say the man is able to move through water faster than speed-boats, can hold his breath for extended amounts of time and can communicate with marine life<
"How long can he hold his breath?"
>Despite being unofficial, one report claims 4 hours and 39 minutes. Report also documented that the only reason why the man returned to surface was due to a quote, "gnarly craving for Gummi Bears" end quote<
"This is.."
>A.R.G.U.S. struck all records from public use as they continue to monitor the man's behavior. A.R.G.U.S. director; Amanda Waller has tried on several occasions to convince said superhuman to have scientific tests done to prove validity of talents but said superhuman refuses<
"Amnesty Bay is in Maine, isn't it?"
>Amnesty Bay is approximately four-hundred, fourty seven miles from Gotham City<
"Place of interest. Does this said superhuman have a name?"
"You're going to enjoy this bit Master Bruce."
>Arthur Curry, son of Doctor Thomas Curry<
"Records on his mother?"
>No results<
".. run search for Arthur Curry, Amnesty Bay, Doctor Thomas "Tommy" Curry mother, wife."
>No results<
"Keep prodding sir, what comes up next will absolutely floor you."
"You're enjoying this too much, it's almost scaring me. Computer, search A.R.G.U.S files for documentation of Arthur Curry's mother."
>Search complete; results indicate Arthur Curry's mother is of royal Atlantean lineage."
I threw my hands in the air and turned around- this was all one gigantic practical joke that Alfred was unleashing on me, a nice little welcoming home gift.
"I liked the Wallace West portion, Alfred. I don't know how much you paid that kid to study and come up with my 'future' but he was convincing. Where's the memory wipe device before he gets loose in public and tells everyone I'm The Bat and I'm alive.. Unless you've already done so? You had me Alfred, you had me good. You had me fooled with talk of Superguy and Waterman.. and even The Bolt."
"The Flash sir, and I assure you that this is very much not a gag. In your absence, the universe has been very strange and Arthur Curry is the least of it all. A few months ago, maybe in May- Central City saw a miniature black hole open up and was beginning to pull the city in."
"No."
"According to Mister Wallace West, his Uncle Barry West a forensics is in town. Maybe it'd be wise to locate Mister Barry West and figure out what's going on? Would you like me to go into town and locate him?"
I slumped myself in the seat that was located before the super computer. This was too much to process, I felt like it was one big rib. Locking both hands behind my head I cocked it back and sighed lightly all as I tried to run down the different scenarios that could go down. IF this wasn't a big joke, if Alfred and Lucius weren't trying to drive me insane with superhuman stories- the last thing this Wallace West needed was to go into public and roam around. Something as small as swatting a mosquito or taking down the wrong criminal could wreck havoc on where he was from- wait, what the.. I sound JUST as crazy as they do. I fought guys with clown paint, a league of assassins and in a mask built to numb pain- I was in love with a woman who liked to go by the alias of The Cat and saw Harvey Dent live with half his body being burnt.. maybe this all wasn't as crazy as I thought?
"I'll cross reference Barry Allen and figure out what I can regarding who he is before we move any further. I'll also see what I can come up regarding 'The Flash,' as ridiculous as this sounds- I'll play along, but if I miss any new episodes of Gotham Cop, INC. I'm going to be very.. very annoyed."
"Sir, that television program was canceled last year after criminals begun to record themselves assaulting GCPD."
"You should of left me in El Salvador."
Laughing, I turned to the computer.. I was stumped where to start in this whole situation. Time traveling?! Superman!? Waterguy?! I.. Didn't know where to start..
