The following events take place on Saturday- July 11th, 2015. The second to last day of The Grey Knight Festival:
The few remaining days of The Grey Knight Festival was superb, usually the best was saved for last. In the case of the 2015 Festival, an announcement was made via Gotham Gazette that ex-Bludhaven Mayor and Gotham original; Oswald Cobblepot was making his grand return to Gotham City and had a few big surprises for the city that was beginning to get worse by the hour. The media and citizens speculated what those bombshells may be, Cobblepot and his camp made sure to keep a tight lid on things as he wanted to build anticipation and from the overwhelming support and buzz he has generated, he has been successful. It was close to 6PM, Cobblepot had the made stage until 8 where 'The Darin' Graysons' would be the main attraction of the evening. A big crowd formed, maybe more than for anything else in recent memory all as the lights from the stage dimmed...
• Announcer • "LAAAAAAADIIIIESSSSSSS AAAANNNDDDDDD GEEEEEEEEEEENTLLLLLEEEEEMEEEEEEENNNNN..."
The buzzing continued, all as to the left and right of the stage and even above it was sparkler-like fireworks but done in the colors of the United States flag. The fireworks to the right was red colored, the fireworks above the stage was white-ish and of course, the left was blue. The announcer was dressed in a blue vest and matching red, white and blue top hat.
• Announcer • "PLEASE GIVE IT UPPPPPPPP.. FOR THE ONNNEEEE.. THEEEE ONLLLLLLLLYYYYY.."
The upbeat tempo of..

The upbeat tempo of..
Kicked in over the PA, all as moving from the beyond the curtain was 12 dancers, six from each side all dressed in matching attire to the announcer. This got the crowd going all as having the backdrop, which looked like an innocent black cloth parted in two, showing a white limo pulling up. The driver exited out and jogged toward the passenger side door near the back of the vehicle, all as the door swung open.. and shockingly enough, no one made their way out of it. Even after a few seconds of waiting.. nothing.
• Announcer • ".. THEEEEEEEEEEEE MAN WHO WILLL CHHHHANGEEEEEEEEEE THIS CITYYYYYYYYY!"
The driver closed the limo's door and moved back around to the driver side, got into the vehicle and pulled forward.. all as when he did so, emerging through the crowd to an UPROAR..
• Announcer • "GGGGGGOTTTTTHAMMMMMMM'SSSSSSSS CCCCCCITTTTTTTTTYYYYYYYYYY'S OWWWWWWNNNNNNNNN.. OSSSSSWAAALDDDDDDD.. CCCCOBBBBBBLEEEEEPOTTTTTT!"
Being a man of the people was one of the approaches he needed to sell because he really wasn't. He despised most people, he wanted to use them as pawns in his own personal game of chess as he's been doing in Bludhaven. Oswald Cobblepot is a terrible person, one that works everyone over into thinking he was a grand savior when in reality, he was a cancer that was looking to go untreated to continue the poisoning of the city. The crowd parted, all as they cheered for a man they thought was their own, Cobblepot with a navy blue suit, white undershirt and red and white tie was all smiles and nods. Beneath those designer shades of his, he held detest for the citizens, wanting to see them all burn.. something he could very well put into motion if everything for his 'cause' went as planned, which seemed so with the support he's garnered thus far. He was the man of the hour, despite the crowd moving to allow him a clear path, they couldn't stop slapping him on the shoulder and attempting to reach out and touch him, treating him like some long-lost messiah. Despite the wobble in his walk, he managed to have great control of the cane. Walking on dirt was a task due to the grip it lacked, but he was doing good.. another thing that swung in his favor- the sympathy vote. The details of Cobblepot's life was often brought up, especially by opposing candidates-- he never hid the fact that his life when he was younger was rough. His father died, his mother turned into an alcoholic, he was led into thinking he was going to finally gain acceptance but instead it was one cruel joke that left his left leg nealy gone for good.. these things he played into, knowing the average human couldn't help but to feel sorry and thus, cast a vote.
• Announcer • "GOTHAM'S HEEEEEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Reaching the stairs of the stage, the crowd's chant of "COBBLE-POT! COBBLE-POT" almost took the music over-- all as Oswald got onto the stage and turned around, lifting his right arm into the air in almost a victorious manner. Being handed a microphone from the announcer, the music cut off and the fireworks finished. The dancer's cleared the stage, all as Cobblepot's eyes scanned the crowd...
• O. Cobblepot • "Gotham City..."
"COBBLEPOT! COBBLEPOT! COBBLEPOT!"
• O. Cobblepot • "You leave me humbled with this support."
The crowd roared again, Cobblepot could only smile. Balancing on his cane, he removed his glasses and tucked them into his chest pocket, all as he continued his speech.
• O. Cobblepot • "Before this goes any further, I'd like to first take a second to remember what this is all about. The lost of lives over the last decade has crippled this city- MY city. I know I left and had a very successful tenure as Mayor in Bludhaven. As much as it hurt me to leave, increased pressure to return to Gotham was on me, and I'm here.. I'm here to put this city on my back and charge forward like a wild buffalo through pouring rain!
Yet again the crowd blew up, Cobblepot smiled for the reaction.
• O. Cobblepot • "But before I can go any further, We need to remember the great sacrifices that was made.. the reason why The Grey Knight Festival is a celebration of the hope, the beacon of light the city has and needs, even in dark days. Men like a good friend of mine, a man I grew up with since I was a child.. Bruce Wayne, let's take a second to remember him. Bruce and I were such great friends, it hurts me to know that the incident took his life..."
A few sobs, followed by a sniffle or two before wiping away a trace of a tear from his left eye, Cobblepot needed to take a second from his speech to gain his composure.
• O. Cobblepot • "We the people cannot forget about those sacrifices. Bruce Wayne and his family gave Gotham it's identity and we can never forget that. Just as we can never forget what men like Harvey Dent and even The Batman meant to us. Both were heroes, like myself- Harvey and I were on the same page, looking to curb crime and use our position of power to relate to YOU!"
Pointing out at the crowd, Cobblepot continued.
• O. Cobblepot • ".. the people. Harvey Dent's impact on the city can still be felt, it's why the criminals are acting out, it's out of fear.. fear, ladies and gentlemen. They know that sooner rather than later, a new white knight would emerge from the sky and descend onto the city and put them back on the brink of extinction! Just like The Batman, I will come down on ALL crime and make sure they regret robbing this city blind, hurting the fine people of Gotham. I will not tolerate it, as you shouldn't! We the people of Gotham City deserve better and I promise.. And I promise right here, in front of my people, that for the benefit of my city.."
A wide grin spread over Oswald's face, all as he nodded.
• O. Cobblepot • "I am officially entering myself into the election! I am looking forward to becoming the next Mayor of Gotham City, just as my grandfather did- just as my great grandfather did!"
There was another pop, one of overwhelming support again from the crowd as that was the announcement they had wanted to hear. They believed that Oswald Cobblepot was the man that could bring them from the depths of hell back to where they should be.. Cobblepot had every intention of using the city as a cash-cow to further his life and profession, as he used Bludhaven. He almost drained the city dry- it wasn't until the emergence of the vigilante called "Nightwing" showed up and begun to interfere in his affairs, making things extremely difficult, something that he didn't anticipate happening on Gotham City due to the lack of The Batman. The whispers of a 'Batwoman' had reached him, just as the reports of "Redface" but they didn't scare him, maybe it was due to the fact that he didn't come across them.. but give it time, he knew the odds of running into another 'do-gooder' were higher than not.
• O. Cobblepot • "My plan will be outlined and mailed to every house-hold in Gotham so you the people will be able to see what will be changed and how. I'm looking forward to representing you as Mayor, and during my run I promise not only will I destroy the criminals, but I will also raise the stock of this city, I will restore order! The days of chaotic clowns running around, blowing up hospitals or terrorists infiltrating the city and using it's people as hostages.. that won't happen under my watch! Under my watch though, I'll tell you what you can look forward to! The city returning to it's glory, crime being destroyed.. and to destroy said crime.. desperate times call for desperate measures. Before I made my return to Gotham, I wanted to make sure I had an ace up my sleeve to show you the people that I was serious- also to show the scum of Gotham's underworld they were living on borrowed time! There was only one man I knew I could turn to in a time of need, one man that I could trust.. and he's a man you should know... all of you."
That buzz that had filled the area earlier had returned, the patrons were throwing speculation over who Cobblepot was speaking of.
• O. Cobblepot • "Ladies and gentlemen, I promised surprises and I have every intent to fulfill them. So along side running for Mayor of Gotham- this I feel, will be even bigger than that. I want to take no credit for this, I just want everyone to remember that good things happen to good people.. and you're all good people.. So without further adieu, the most important piece to the puzzle of cleaning Gotham up for the better.. The man who this festival is partially named after.. Yes, declared missin due to tragic circumstances-- The fine people of Gotham City, I bring you YOUR White Knight, the man who changed this city for the better once-- the man who will once again bring it back to it's glory.. Former District Attorney.. Harvey.. Dent."
