SOCIAL INFORMATION:

- Current/Known Adversaries: Joker, Ra's Al Ghul, Scarecrow, The League of Shadows Two-Face
ABILITIES:
To put it best, The Bat [as he's called by those who fear him] is The World's Greatest Detective. He solves cases by using his amazing intellect and of course, has state of the art technology to help him on his quest from Wayne Enterprises, especially Lucius Fox who serves as head of R&D. His gadgets are used and developed solely for his use. Everything from grappling hooks, to specialized armor.. and of course, The Tumbler which is a tank/high-speed vehicle/motorcycle all in one. A master of hand to hand combat through years of traveling after the death of his parents and initial lost of faith over who he was, Bruce is well vested in dozens of fighting styles that leaves him close to unbeatable in close quarter combat.
STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES:
His main strength is the drive of keeping Gotham City safe. The constant memory of his parents being gunned down in front of him when he was a child keeps him going. With that said, a weakness of his is his inability to kill an enemy, no matter how destructive they may be. The Bat's gadgets put him over his foes, his detective/investigating ability helps as well. With his parent's death as a constant source of pain that he thrives off, the death of his love- Rachel also haunts him, but keeps him gunning forward.
BACKGROUND:
Bruce Wayne.. A name that many take differently. Some think of Bruce as a good man, one who's philanthropistic endeavors has helped thousands.. if not, millions. Born to Thomas and Martha Wayne, Gotham's original socialites, Bruce lived the life every child dreamed of. With great parents, everything his heart desired --- it was thought to be perfect until that one dreaded night where Thomas, Martha and Bruce was leaving the theater, they were held at gun-point, and despite Thomas and Martha not putting up a struggle, they were gunned down in cold-blood in front of Bruce and left to die alone in an alley. Bruce was destroyed, his parents bled out in front of him and he was left helpless, all over money and pearls.. but that instilled something in him. First cared for by a [then] rookie police officer named James Gordon who assured Bruce everything would be OK -- he was taken back to Wayne Manor by his family's long-time butler, Alfred Pennyworth, who would be the boy's guardian in the wake of his parent's death.
All the mean while, Bruce grew up and he had a few friends, but none of them as important as Rachel Dawes, a woman who he came to idolize. Despite Bruce and Alfred's relationship of son and father, Rachel was the companion that with the age being as close as it was, it allowed Bruce to be a child and grew up properly. Despite the positive influence Rachel had on Bruce's life, Wayne decided that he wouldn't allow that to dictate his life and used his family's fortune to travel the world -- until of course, he returned to Gotham City, feeling the need to avenge his parent's death from the murderer who was finally going to be put on trial -- a street thug named Joe Chill. Before Bruce could extract revenge, a hitman for Carmine Falcone pulled the hit off in fear of Chill rolling on Falcone, which left Bruce helpless and lost, again. Approaching Rachel Dawes who was a young, promising attorney at the time and confessing his plan, Rachel gave him a swift reality check with a slap in the face and making the remark that Bruce's father would be ashamed of the man he had become.
That hit him, and it hit him hard. It was then that Bruce decided he needed to leave Gotham for an extended amount of time and find him- it was then when he left and traveled the globe, eventually finding himself locked in an East Asian prison. He was on a downward spiral, but things would once again change for him as a many by the name of 'Henry' saw great promise in Bruce and wanted to see him become something more.. something.. special. Bruce accepted Henry's offer to follow under the lead of Ra's Al Ghul, a man who could elevate Bruce's thinking and body. Managing to excel under the training of The League of Shadows, Bruce Wayne found himself when he was faced with his personal fear of bats and overcame it, just as he let go of the fear of losing himself and understood what he needed to become. Rising rapidly through the ranks of The League of Shadows over the course of 5 years or so, Ra's gave Bruce his mission.. to march into Gotham City and destroy the heart of criminality.. which meant destroying the city completely.
Unable to do such a task as it was the city his parents built, Bruce made a daring escape, a crime punishable by death under The League. After taking down several gifted assassins, Bruce would come to save Henry from an explosion at The League's compound and carried him to safety to a near village, making sure to tell the villagers that cared for Henry who saved him when he got up.. and from there, Bruce finally knew what he needed to do.. And he made his return to Gotham, knowing what was coming straight at it. In this time, his child-hood friend and love, Rachel had become a highly respected attorney for the city, prosecuting Falcone and Maroni family members, putting a target on her back from Gotham's organized crime. With his return to Gotham, Bruce decided that his worst fear, bats, would be a symbol of hope for civilians in Gotham.. and thus, The Batman was born.
Returning 'from the dead' as many said, he shocked Gotham when he returned and quickly regained power of Wayne Enterprises where he led the company back into the light, making a quiet promise to his parents and city that he would not only bring pride back to the Wayne name, but he would restore Gotham to glory. As The Batman, Bruce single-handedly attacked the crime and corruption of Gotham City, quickly striking fear into criminals across the way. It wasn't long before the crime rate rapidly dropped, causing Gotham's citizens to begin to feel safe in their homes again. Bruce would construct what would be known as The Batcave beneath Wayne Manor and ordered all sorts of technology from WayneTech, the science department of his company.. something Lucius Fox picked up on and eventually would come to see why.
After many battles -- having Wayne Manor be set on fire, facing off against a psychotic clown.. and dealing with a masked terrorist who was just a pawn used by Ra's daughter in an attempt to destroy Bruce, he was believed to be dead by many. Talia Al Ghul posed to be a member of Wayne Enterprises board of directors, fulfilling the void in Bruce's life that Rachel's death left, which caused Bruce to fall into love with the woman, all the mean while as she had the intent to destroy him for the death of her father. Bruce would come around, defeat her and her pawn, the 'liberator' Bane, and save the city by taking the bomb he had unknowingly assisted in creating out of Gotham and flying over the ocean, sacrificing himself for the one cause he knew was worth it. Many believed that was The Bat's death.
Someone took up the mantle of The Bat, but those familiar with his approach knew it wasn't the same person, the mannerisms was different. Roughly a month shy of three years since Bruce Wayne was buried at Wayne Manor next to his mother and father, Gotham would once again witness the rising of Bruce Wayne, as much like Lazarus, he would never truly die. No-one knows where he has been these past years, aside of himself and Selina Kyle of course.. but with Gotham burning from crime and corruption, he could no longer live his life out in peace like he originally intended.
The only way to extinguish the fire that was burning Gotham City, was by it's knight returning.. Only The Bat could save it as he's proved in the past.
