●● MAIN HEADLINE : COBBLEPOT TO RETURN ●●
It seems that the savior Gotham City has been looking for was right under its nose the whole time. Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot, who's lineage traces back to the prestigious "First Families of Gotham" is said to be making his return to the city since his tenure as Mayor in Blüdhaven came to an end on July 1st! Straight from his offices, the announcement was made that on July 11th (the last day of The Grey Knight Festival) he (Cobblepot) would be making a HUGE announcements regarding the future of Gotham, which hopefully means his name in the election! Despite the controversy that surrounded him as Mayor in Blüdhaven, citizens were sad to see the Gothamite leave office. With Gotham being on its last legs due to the spike in crime and corruption, it would take a man that grew up in Gotham to see it revert back to the way it was prior to terrorist attack three years ago. Cobblepot did not return any calls, but his assistant released the statement, "It would be a very wise move to attend The Grey Knight Festival on July 11th, as Mister Cobblepot's announcement will shake the foundation of Gotham... forever." Whatever it is, Cobblepot's office can surely move the hype-train, it's safe to say that the last day of The Grey Knight Festival will no doubt be the best!
● Elliot Memorial to Open: Setback after setback seen Gotham General's reopening fail, which is why esteemed brain surgeon and local boy Doctor Thomas Elliot decided that the people deserved a great hospital, and funded the project with the help of federal and state grants. What is now known as "The Elliot Family Memorial Hospital" will be opening it's doors soon, with several respected doctors now working in Gotham's new general hospital. A date has not been yet picked for the grand opening, but it is expected that Doctor Elliot himself will be returning for the occasion, all as he gives back to the city that helped make who he is.
● Serial Killers on the Loose: Just when you thought Gotham could not get any worse, it seems that GCPD has released a memo detailing "about 6" different serial killers roaming the streets. Whether or not "Redface" Gotham's vigilante is considered a serial killer under GCPD guidelines is not known, however with the string of brutal murders rising, Commissioner Jim Gordon decided the public needed to know. With decapitations, body parts being sewed on corpses and left in open areas and even ghastly grins being carved across faces, we can only guess what or who is lurking the city...
● Ex-Doctor Locked in Arkham: Once a proud and bright young mind, Doctor Jonathan Crane is said to be the 'first' confirmed patient in the NEW Arkham Asylum. Crane was convicted of attempting to pollute the city's water supply with what he called "Fear Gas," a crime that was decided in federal court. Despite Crane being found guilty, Doctor Jeremiah Arkham convinced the judge to have Crane be locked in Arkham instead of a federal penitentiary as Arkham believes in the advances he makes in 'curing the sick mind.'
● Croc-like Creature Seen!?: A few tips and wild calls from city workers state that when working in the sewer on broken electrical lines, a humanoid figure that stood near "seven feet" with apparent "scales like a crocodile" spooked them so badly, they left the job site and refuse to return. Despite searches down in the sewer, nothing has come back positive and Gotham Electric looks forward to continuing their service to reinstall electrical lines after some citizens went without power.
● More Pressure on Gordon: Due to Arkham Asylum's reopening being a success, more pressure is said to be on Commissioner Gordon to keep tabs on the inmates there, as it could prove to be quite troublesome and chaotic if an escape is successful. The criminal known as "The Joker" is still on the loose, an event that prompted Arkham to renovate and advance with the times. Gordon has come under fire as commissioner which some feel is not fair as many of the situations were not his fault. one man is believed to NOT be able to stop a city being overrun with terrorists.
● Darin' Graysons Return!: Along side the HUGE announcement promised by Cobblepot's camp, the death-defying "Darin' Graysons" on behalf of Haly's Circus will be in town to close out The Grey Knight Festival. Despite Haly's Circus co-sponsoring the event, majority of the acts were booked until this week- but as off Wednesday the ENTIRE Haly's Circus will be performing at The Grey Knight Festival. Many asked why the festival ends on a Saturday and not Sunday, and it is speculated that Sunday is looked upon as a "Rest day" in Gotham with all the trouble recently. The Darin' Grayson, made up of John Grayson and Mary Grayson [formally Cobb] and their teenaged, heart-throb son Ricky, will no doubt leave you breathless with anxiety!
● New DA to be Voted In: In what is a turning point in Gotham politics, it was decided that a NEW district attorney would be elected along side a new Mayor! The memory of Harvey Dent still lingers in the mind of many as he is held as Gotham's 'beacon of hope' that managed to not only curb crime, but put away criminals by the hundreds. The citizens of Gotham will be able to vote in the next DA, and whoever it may be will have a lot on their plate with the state the city is currently in.

● "Freeze" Heist, Who is He?!: Leaving GCPD clueless was a bank robbery at Gotham's biggest establishment; Gotham Central Bank where the use of cryogenics made things 'simpler than they should of been' said one detective at the scene. With no leads, GCPD is hoping the public can help the investigation and send any tips their way. With vaults for Wayne Enterprises, MetroPoly Pharmaceutical [amongst others] targeted, GCPD has immense pressure to stop whoever this criminal is that uses below-zero as his approach.. But no matter what, GCPD is confident that this "Mr. Freeze" will be caught.
● Lucius Fox Sitdown Convo: We sit down with the current head of operations at Wayne Enterprises as he spoke of the company's vision for the future in several different aspects. Fox pledged that he would do 'what Bruce would have' and the company seems to be charging in the right direction as company stock is through the roof. Fox also detailed how the company is surviving without it's name-sake, Bruce Wayne, and how things in Gotham need to change before the corruption reaches the roots and decay is the norm.
● Vicki Vale on Corruption: Gazette Investigator Vicki Vale, fresh off of her vacation in the Bahamas returned with a scathing piece on the corruption in Gotham's political scene and police department. Miss Vale who is known to pull no punches went straight after several prominent figures within the higher ranking branches of the city, even going as far as to question the sanity of the citizens if they want to vote 'dirty mobster Cobblepot' into office, which would be taking 130 steps backwards. It's no secret that Miss Vale constantly needs to watch over her shoulder for retaliation, but at the end of the day, she's the Gazette's Fearless First Woman!
● LexCorp Making Strides: Originally a business operated strictly out of Metropolis, in recent months Alexander "Lex" Luthor has seen his business grow ten-fold, with rumors of a LexCorp Executive Building even being built in Gotham!
