Post by Bruce Wayne - The Batman on Aug 1, 2015 4:12:11 GMT
In order to ensure that the event was a success, I had hired the right people to publicize the event and make sure it didn't matter if you were in Metropolis.. Starling City or even Timbuktu, Africa- you knew the event was going on. The point to it all wasn't to enlarge my ego with compliments regarding the home, the success of my company or even the way I managed to cheat death, but rather I saw a young man who was struggling to survive in Ricky Grayson that lost his parents in possibly a more tragic way than I had. Sure, I was a child that seen my parents get shot in front of me.. my mother even managed to speak a word or two in my way before perishing, but Grayson didn't share that same opportunity.
"Alfred, all preparations are made I assume?"
During the revealing interview that saw me rise from the grave.. Wayne Manor was shown to be dark and under-furnished. It was due to Alfred wanting to keep the property looking empty in the event that someone had broken in during my absence, there wasn't much to take. The old furniture and collectables remained in the house, everything else was donated to needy homes and families that didn't have much. But, in typical 'me' fashion, I had the house filled with furniture, I hired an interior decorator to make it 'me' but warm enough to garner some donations from those attending so help the boy find his way. I didn't know where he was, I had yet to have Alfred track Grayson but sooner rather than later if GCPD didn't get their act together.. I'd need to do my own investigation to find what really happened that evening at The Grey Knight Festival when The Graysons fell to the death.
"Indeed, Master Wayne. The caterers have arrived and are setting up as we speak and the waxing of the tile was completed on time, Wayne Manor is quite marvelous if I may add."
"You did a great job, I forgot how useful you are."
"It'd be wise not to let that little fact slip your mind sir, you never know when you'll need my assistance."
"I'll need your assistance in the event Penguin shows up, I'll be tempted to knock him down the stairs to Manor..."
It wasn't that I hated Cobblepot- well, OK, I did. We never got along, we were always at each other's throats because Cobblepot never realized that some people were built differently. I wasn't always a good sized individual, I was lanky as a child and still am on the lean side to this day but it was as of Cobblepot was insanely jealous of my physical build. He was always heavier set, but that should never stop someone from becoming what they dream of- instead, Cobblepot opened himself up for insults because of his terrible attitude. The nickname 'Penguin' stuck on him after he developed that limp due to failing to get initiated into a street-gang.. a turning point in his life, but one that he should have known would affect him.
"Master Wayne, despite Mister Cobblepot's intentions we should not object him to donating to the cause. Young Grayson needs all the help he can get, especially now."
"You're letting what Barbara Gordon said effect you, aren't you?"
I had listened to the whole conversation between Barbara and Alfred where Gordon poured her heart out to him in a way to get Grayson out of the orphanage and into a safe home- and I could tell by the look on his face that he shared her sentiment. I wouldn't come out clean and admit it, but I knew the boy deserved better- it wasn't as if the orphanage was a bad place, but under terrible management.. anything would suffer. I had thought about visiting Grayson and figuring out what made him tick- we shared similarities, and eventually our paths would cross.
"It's quite hard. Once.. I knew a boy who had lost his parents in an absolutely horrifying manner; I can only imagine the trials and tribulations he must be going through now."
"If you were wondering if I'd take the boy in- or attempt to, you can just ask me."
"Well, what is your thoughts on the situation Master Bruce?"
"Part of me wants to visit him- a part of me is also interested in seeing where funds are going to because the orphanage sounds like a slaughterhouse. If Grayson shows interest in possibly dwelling here then sure, I'd be willing to let him live out the rest of his time at Wayne Manor- all the mean while find out if he's ready for the world."
I meant that- it wasn't everyday that a 18 year old was able to drift off into society and become productive... especially one with no fallback plan. A usual teenager would graduate from high school, go to college and enjoy the early years with little regard for life and consequences, but Grayson didn't have that. There's no where for him to fall- should he, except for Haly's Circus but that was a while from now. I didn't know much, but I did know his birthday was in March so there was time before he could make legal choices with his life.
"If how floored Miss Gordon is regarding the conditions of the home for displaced children is any sign, then I'm afraid that it's quite bad. But what about the other children?"
"I can only do so much as Bruce Wayne... You know that."
Winking in Alfred's direction, he understood completely what I meant by that statement without giving too much away. As Bruce Wayne, I was limited in the action I was able to force. Sure, I could call in favors and get things put into motion but I wasn't able to get results.. not like I could if I put on the cowl and begun to stalk the night and intimidate the right people to continue traveling the right path. I was sure that someone was stealing money from the fund set up to help children- I know that it started at the top and very soon I would kick off an investigation and I had a feeling that it would all fall on Cobblepot somehow. I knew that Cobblepot's reach into Gotham was deep- despite not formally winning the Mayor's race, his name was blown up in the media and he had quite the advantage over Mayor Matthews and whoever the other candidate was- and if I knew Cobblepot like I know I did, he had his stubby fingers in the cookie-jar.
"Very well sir, fair point."
"But for the moment, let's.. forget about that. Let''s just do our best to raise as much money for the boy as possible."
"I'm quite disappointed that young Grayson hasn't accepted our invitation to attend, his presence would most certainly amplify the amount."
"I can't blame him, it's not that long ago that he lost his parents.. He probably wants to be by himself and collect his thoughts."
"This is also very true. I have also requested administration of the home where young Grayson is at to notify the boy regarding the funeral service details. Both the date as well as the location and time. It's a very honorable thing what you've done sir, you're far from the crass "pig" Miss Vale tried to paint you as in the past."
"You know Vicki, Alfred- she was just hurt that I decided we needed to end things."
"Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn.. no truer words were ever spoken. Aside of Miss Vale, whom else are you expecting?"
"Penguin and his camp for starters- I know Roman is going to pop up to continue to rot away over how big my home is compared to his.. I've gotten word that head of LexCorp, Lex Luthor may show up as well.. I've been looking into Luthor's rise to power and haven't quite found anything negative.. yet. I don't trust him, but until I find a reason otherwise.. I'll keep an eye on him. I've also got word that an Oliver Queen, former CEO of Queen Industries may make an appearance as he's another that's had a troubled time recently."
"After losing Queen Industries to Roy Palmer, Mister Queen's net worth took a significant hit. Plus, it didn't help that his mother- the always lovely Moira Queen had admitted guilt in the destruction of a section of Starling City. That'll negativity effect anyone, except not Bruce Wayne it seems.. Nuclear Reactors do not cause him to take a hit, apparently."
"Of course not, I'm too handsome to suffer that fate. But after my talk with Wallace, I've been doing research on some of the people who I expect to show up- I made sure he didn't tip me off onto too much as I have no idea how stopping one would effect the cause and effect pattern of the universe. I do however.. have an issue with Oliver Queen is he decides to show up as I'm not a fan of having competition terms of looks, charm and personality. We may very well be enemies by the end of the evening."
"I assure you Master Bruce, there is no current or ex billionaire playboy, not even in some parallel universe that may decide to wear a suit of iron that rivals you."
What kind of shallow person would parade in a suit of armor when he could easily develop lightweight, productive fabric that acts as an even tougher form of defense? Amateurs, luckily no one of such exists or else hydrochloric acid would be it's worst nightmare.
"An.. Iron.. Man? Oh Alfred, your imagination is something else these days. But.. I think I'll go get ready, let me know if there's anything more needed. Also- I have no idea where West is, but keep an eye on him and make sure he behaves. I'll be doing the same, remind him that being too obnoxious wouldn't be wise."
"I will sir, he must share your rascal genetics!"
"Oh no doubt. He's my splitting image, isn't he?"
It was hard not to laugh at the statement, but I did. Wallace had decided to use the cover of being my 'illegitimate son,' and that was fine. With how my life was in my 20s, it's perfectly believable to think that I had slipped up once or twice and could put myself into that kind of position. Nonetheless... letting my eyes scan the area.. it was nearly go time. Finishing touches were being put on the event, official start time was 6PM, there was about an hour or so to go before the gates to Wayne Manor would be opened up and guests would be allowed in. With a nod, I continued up toward the spiral staircase and stepped into the master bedroom to clean up and get ready. No matter how hard I tried to forget about it, I couldn't shake the feeling of how miserable Grayson must be at the orphanage. Alfred pointed out a fact about the other children- but I could only work at the pace of one man. I had tried to give Wayne Manor to the city so they could put it to use but they had decided against it- nothing I could do about that... But what I could do was make sure appropriate funds were going into the right channels. That'd be handled soon, but first.. raising money for the Grayson boy was priority number one.

Post by Ted Kord on Aug 1, 2015 5:23:47 GMT
Ted Kord arrived at the Gotham International Airport. He was with Michael Jon Carter, the man he didn't wanted to bring along. Though so far he is not fan of his fantasy theories about alternate universe or timelines. It will take a lot for Ted to believe in something. However the moment they came out at the arrival gate of the airport. A white limo was already waiting for them. Ted looked at his watch as he notices as it says its 5:45 PM. He get into the back of the limo, he thought he would be heading to one of his condos that he likes to spend time at whenever he is in Gotham. Though his driver astonished him with a little bit of change in his itinerary. He didn't knew there would be a fundraiser for the young master Grayson and all the needless children at the Orphanage. He wasn't really aware of that.
Ted Kord : Looks like my time travelling forgot to tell me something
Michael Jon Carter : What do you mean ?
As the two get in the limo, Jon Carter had no idea that there would be fundraiser tonight, so much for knowing all about timeline history.
Ted Kord : The driver told me just now -- that Bruce Wayne is holding a fundraiser gala at his mansion from fifteen minutes from now.
Michael Jon Carter : Aww shit, Damn I completely forgot. What do we do now ?
Ted Kord : Not 'we', just me. I will attend the gala. I will let the driver drop you off at my place. In an event like this I don't want to alarm Mister Bruce guest with your time travel theories. Now you should do what I say ? I will introduce you to Bruce some other time.
Michael Jon Carter : Alright - as you say so.
Ted Kord : Driver drop me to the Wayne Manor and drop mister Carter at My place.
Around Fifteen minutes later, they arrived right outside the Wayne Manor main gate. The drive pulls the limo over, he walks out then stroll all the way to the back door. He opens it and let mister Ted Kord step out of the vehicle. Kord wanted to meet Bruce Wayne personally. Kord met with Wayne's security detail that was outside the gate. The moment he was through the gate, Kord was allowed to walk in. He took a stroll as he makes his way towards the Manor. He met Alfred.
Ted Kord : Oh Hello Alfred Where is Master Bruce ?
Alfred : Mister Kord I assume. None of us were expecting you to be here so soon.
Ted Kord : Alfred It couldn't wait. It's nice to see Bruce is carrying the family tradition. His entire family used to help those who needed help. I am happy and glad to know that Bruce is alive. His family would be proud to see what he has done in their name ?
Alfred : Well sir -- same with your family too. They would proud to see what you did to Kord industries. How is your uncle doing ? I thought Mister Jarvis Kord would be coming.
Ted Kord : He is back at home state. By the way - Alfred here is 20 million check from me. I would like to donate it for Master Grayson's fundraiser.
Alfred being always so helpful. He took the check that was presented to him by Ted Kord. Seems like Kord was generous as always. Though the main thing is how will Bruce and Ted would get along - despite their family ties, this is the first time Bruce and Ted would be introduced to one another. Ted shakes hand with Alfred, as the latter than moves further inside the place where Alfred would introduce them. After few minutes of waiting Bruce Wayne walks up.
Bruce Wayne : Mister Ted Kord; The smartest man alive
Sounded a little sarcastic, but he did mean to call him a genius. Ted smiled as he shakes hands with Bruce Wayne. Kord laugh slightly with a chuckle
Ted Kord : No Mister Wayne, Albert Einstein was the smartest man.
Bruce Wayne : Ah yes he indeed was. So when did you arrived in Gotham ? Hope you enjoyed your stay so far Mister Kord
Ted Kord : Mister Wayne, you can just call me Ted. But I arrived an hour ago. I am really ashamed the fact that I found out about your fundraiser. The moment I landed here. But since it was for good cause, than I couldn't stop myself and come straight down here. Donate for those that really need this money. It's a sad news to hear about What happened to the Grayson family ? I know it would be really devastating for the young Master Grayson.
Ted was genuine about his feeling. He was deep inside devastated about a young boy losing his parents like that. Though, not only he could donate money to help those that are less fortunate. Ted gaze his head down for a bit, it sadden him to even think about what the young boy was going through. But he knows that the only one who could help the young Grayson was Bruce. He didn't wanted to say it out loud, just because the respect he had for the Wayne family, but to him it was obvious that Wayne is the right person become the legal ward to The Young Richard John Grayson, he believes that Wayne knows how Master Grayson is really feeling. Speaking about legal ward ; there is another Wayne family member that Ted has not yet interacted with, in terms of Wallace Wayne.

Post by Lex Luthor on Aug 4, 2015 1:22:33 GMT
At this point it was well after eight, nearing toward nine. What little bit of sun ever seems to shine on Gotham had retired for the evening and a big blue moon was hovering contently over the sky. Luthor's conversation with the head of the Gotham City Council had gone well… Quite well as a matter of fact. Luthor had been able to size Councilman Edwards up pretty much on first site. He immediately realized that this guy craved being on the side of power and he'd be an easy pawn to control in Gotham. The plus to pawns is they're easy to move and it's not a big deal if they get taken. The negative is, nobody ever won a game of Chess with only pawns on the board. Lex needed some larger pieces to be at play. The car pulled up in front of Wayne Manor where the lights were lit bright and the traffic was moderate. The event had surely started quite a bit earlier but when you're dealing with high society, everybody wants to be fashionably late. After all the last big entrance is the one you're most likely to remember. Lex didn't need to worry about that sort of thing. Not because his ego was beyond it but much the contrary, because in his mind his entrance was the most important no matter when or how it occurred.
As Luthor began up the steps to Wayne Manor the Councilman was already awaiting him near the door. Lex stepped up to the door as an obviously contracted security guard stood holding a clip board.
Councilman Edwards, "Bill Edwards, Gotham City Council and a plus one.”
The bouncer looks the list over and finally gives a nod and steps aside signaling to the man behind him dressed in matching black security attire to open the door. Both men continued into the house. Of course the house was done up immaculately for the fundraiser and people in black tuxedos and power suits mingled with each other and with women in high price evening gowns and expensive jewelry. Waiters floated around with drink trays and aurderves under the scrupulous supervision of Alfred. The Councilman snatched a couple of glasses of Champaign off a passing tray and handed one to Lex who casually accepted.
Lex Luthor, "So this is the famed Wayne Manor? I thought it'd be a little bigger."
The Councilman was taken back a little by that quip from Luthor. Wayne Manor was gargantuan. By far the largest estate in Gotham and perhaps the largest estate in the state. It wasn't like Lex Luthor's place was bigger. He lived in a Penthouse apartment. It was extravagant but comparing a Penthouse to a mansion was like comparing apples to oranges. It was two completely different high end homes to accommodate two completely different lifestyles. Both high end lifestyles but different never the less. A Mansion suited somebody like Bruce Wayne who enjoyed his privacy and liked to host big charity events in his home. When Luthor hosted events he used ballrooms at Lex Tower and he enjoyed all the amenities of living in a Penthouse with full staff available twenty four seven for everything from room service to providing a car service to whatever. Plus he was able to stay in the heart of the city close to all the hot spots and most importantly, close to Lex-Corp where he spent far more time than he could in any of his homes. But we digress… The point is Luthor's quip, in it's smugness and mild absurdity wasn't one of 'My place is bigger' but much the opposite, it was Luthor's ego trying to downplay and perhaps even diminish anything that could be viewed as grander than that of his own.
The councilman, unsure how to respond to a criticism he'd surely never heard before moved on and said, "Oh… Please, follow me… I see somebody you should meet…"
Luthor shrugged and followed the congressman when…

Post by Oswald Cobblepot on Aug 4, 2015 2:13:05 GMT
Gotham was a very dark place, and sometimes bad things happened. This whole ordeal with the Grayson's has been one huge headache, one that Oswald Cobblepot would like to be forgotten but one that seemingly won't go away; especially since Bruce Wayne decides to keep it going and refuses to let it fade off into the shadows.
Sitting in the back of his stretch limousine, Oswald is listening to some very peaceful music as he has been very stressed as of late, things have not been going according to plan and that's something that Oswald does not take very well. With the back window of the limousine rolling down, the driver asks Oswald a question.
Driver: Are we headed to the Wayne Manor?
Nodding his head, he answers the driver while giving off a long, irritated sigh.
Oswald: Yes, we are headed to the Wayne Manor as I have a few things that I need to attend to. Make sure that you keep the limousine waiting, I shouldn't be too long.
Nodding his head, the limousine pulls into the driveway of Wayne Manor and the driver parks the limousine and walks over opening the door for Mr. Cobblepot who steps out of the limousine wearing his patented sunglasses with a cane in hand. With the door being closed behind him, Oswald walks up to the door and presses the doorbell as Alfred, Bruce's personal butler answers the door knowing exactly who it is.
Oswald: Alfred, it's good to see you - you look much leaner then I last saw you.
Smiling very arrogantly, Oswald helps himself into Wayne Manor as he sees the man of the hour, Bruce Wayne himself standing there as Oswald decides to approach his old "friend".
Oswald: Bruce, it's good to see you - how long has it been?
With a smile stretched on his face, Oswald never liked Bruce but he knew that he had an appearance to make as well as a reputation to keep up so this time, he would play it clean.

Post by Bruce Wayne - The Batman on Aug 4, 2015 2:48:57 GMT
I knew I'd be approached by several people, Ted Kord wasn't one of them. The man was brilliant, he did a lot for technology and eventually I'd sit down with him and pick his brain. After our exchange, he wandered off to mingle with the other guests and it didn't take long for me to notice councilman Bill Edwards and.. he brought a guest. From across the room I kept my eyes on the two, I had suspicious that Edwards was one of the key figures in the city not using Wayne Manor as I had asked... but there was no proof. The man with him- that was a total surprise, Alexander Luthor, LexCorp''s very own. Something about how Luthor carried himself, the smug- cocky grin across his face as he looked my home over, probably insulting it's interior design and size... typical snob attitude. Luckily for him, he wasn't the only one that could put that front on, I could be quite the pompous jerk as well, one of the traits Selina had said she despised about me.
"Master Bruce, the turn out seems quite ideal. Mister Kord donated a great sum of money to the Grayson boy."
"Things are working out just as I planned they would. Not only is the event drawing money for the boy but it's getting some of the most influential figures on the East Coast all under the same roof.. and there's two very interesting fellows standing that's decided to join us."
Nodding my head in the direction of Luthor and Edwards, I raised the glass of champagne to my lips and took a sip. It was a while since I wore a tuxedo and drank champagne, the details of my life recently didn't bring the need to celebrate.
"Sir, how very clandestine of you."
"I'm not considered The World's Greatest Detective because I carry around a magnifying glass in my pocket, Alfred."
With a smirk and wink, Alfred chuckled at my remarks as his eyes shifted from me and onto the door way. I couldn't help but keep an eye on Luthor, the guy rubbed me the wrong way. I don't know if it was because of how he carried himself- or if it was because of how a lot of who he was, I saw myself as well.. but I instantly didn't take a liking to him. The smile on Alfred's face from our short exchange didn't last long all as he let off a frown and cleared his throat.
"Oh dear, he took up your invitation."
"Oh...?"
Not sure who Alfred was referencing, I saw him leave my side and approach the doorway as there it was.. Penguin. Of course he had that same ridiculous limp that I figured years ago would have taught him a lesson, the cane didn't help neither. Watching as he stepped into Wayne Manor behind those designer shades, a suit that he needed to have imported from across the Atlantic due to his stomach and his general attitude.. I smirked. One would think that the sight of Cobblepot would make me sick, but rather it amused me. If there was anyone that could get under his skin, it was me and I knew it. Alfred and Cobblepot traded words- Alfred never took a liking to him neither. He had heard horror stories regarding working for their family, some went as far as to say that Oswald himself would plant stolen items on the help to torture them if they failed to give into him. Approaching me, I saw his mass close in all as he opened his mouth with that poor attitude of his-
"Bruce, it's good to see you - how long has it been?"
With that grin spread over his face that made me want to punch him in the stomach, I fired a smile of my own off and replied.
"A while, I almost didn't recognize you. I thought at first an Emperor Penguin had escaped Gotham Zoo then I realized I was wrong, it's just Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot!"
The tension between us two... it was thick enough to be able to slice with a knife. It was clear that there was absolute hatred between one another and I loved it. As much as Cobblepot could boast about his accomplishments as Mayor of Bludhaven as well as whatever else he'd talk about- at the end of the day, he was still the only member of Gotham's First Families to not only lose his estate, but have to buy it back... from my real estate company, at double the price no less.
"You look... healthy, I see your all seafood diet has paid off."
The more and more I mentioned penguins, I could see the hate boil in him. Despite having those glasses on, I knew he wanted to act on impulse and hit me.. but he wouldn't, because he was a bully. Cobblepot liked to throw his weight around but when someone stood up to him, he cowered in fear- it's the story of his life.
"I do thank you for attending, I know you're not able to donate much to the fund but that's fine- it's the thought that counts. I know the trip up from the Southern Hemisphere this time of the year is rough on you with the heat and all-"
Reaching over, I patted his stomach-
".. no salmon, but I think we've got some fish from Hawaii being served."
Flashing the most cheesy smile I could potentially put on, I knew Cobblepot was angry, the facial expression he carried- that arrogance faded. Looking on as I sipped my wine, I continued to gaze in Luthor's direction, not trusting him for a second- but the man was polarizing. He drew a crowd, and as he spoke of probably LexCorp's record stock boost, I stood in Cobblepot's presence, the back and forth would be good for me- I needed to brush up on it.

Post by Wallace West - "Kid" Flash on Aug 4, 2015 4:53:45 GMT
Barry and Wally took off from S.T.A.R. Labs, and taking Caitlin's advice, they made sure to avoid any way of Iris seeing them. She was always good at pushing the buttons and figuring stuff out and she definitely didn't need to know about Wally being another speedster. Barry was called in to investigate the docks with Gordon, something about another string of murders, a bunch of thugs brutally shot up, some drugs destroyed and some joker cards laid around. So Barry was going to have fun with that, but Wally needed to get back to Wayne manor. The Grayson fundraiser was happening and the crowd was going to really start showing up. Wally just came out as being Bruce's "son" to the public eye so that means they'd be watching him like a hawk. Wally comes speeding up and stops just outside of the gates of Wayne Manor. Cars are all piled up, it was finally getting dark out, well, dark for Gotham anyway, and Wally knew there was going to be some big dogs here, he had to be careful. He saw his opening, the front door was open so Wally took off like a bat outta hell and rushed through the front door and right up the steps to his room to get changed for the event. A huge gust of wind blew in and it caught the guests off guard but Bruce and Alfred knew that it was Wally but they had to play it off.
[[Ted]]: Whoa, I didn't think there was supposed to be a storm blowing in tonight! Maybe we should close that door.
[[Bruce]]: Ah, don't worry about it, Ted. You know how it is in Gotham. The weather here is always unpredictable, and we are out on the edge of Gotham, after all. No buildings to block the wind.
[[Ted]]: Ah, yeah! I didn't even think about it that way! Just goes to show you how much I'm out on this side of Gotham! Haha!
Ted had a little bit to drink so he was beginning to loosen up a bit. It was entertaining. In the mean time, Alfred came up to Bruce and whispered into his ear.
[[Alfred]]: It appears as if Master Wallace has arrived, sir.
[[Bruce]]: I noticed that too, Alfred. Good to see he showed up but I better have a talk with him.
Bruce went from his whisper and turned towards the crowd.
[[Bruce]]: Ladies and gentlemen, please, continue to enjoy, and I'll return shortly.
Bruce headed up the stairs, and in the mean time, Wally was in his room and getting his tux on. Bruce arrived to the room and he couldn't help but get a laugh to see Wally struggling getting his tie on.
[[Wally]]: Brucie! Perfect timing! Can I.. uh... get some help with this tie? I've never had to actually tie one of these things, man!
Bruce got a laugh out of this. He shook his head and walked up to Wally to help him with the tie.
[[Wally]]: Hey! Don't laugh, man! It's real first world problems here!
Bruce tied his tie and smirked looking at Wally. He enjoyed the kid. Saw a lot of a young Bruce in him most likely.
[[Bruce]]: You made quite the entrance down there, Wallace. Good to see you could make it.
[[Wally]]: It was, wasn't it?! Dude there's so many big time people down there! Ted Kord... the guy's a legend in my time! Luthor, Penguin... man it's crazy! Ted was always an inspiration to me! When he put on that bl--
[[Bruce]]: --no! Wally, remember, you don't want to change your future entirely! Telling us anything that we absolutely don't need to know could change everything drastically. The Butterfly Effect, remember that.
[[Wally]]: Oh yeah! Right! Sorry! It's just so different being here in 2015... and seeing all of these people together for the first time before they become the people they are in my time... man Brucie, it's nuts! But it's so exciting! I wanna go meet 'em!
[[Bruce]]: We're going back down there now, but no speed of light running, Wallace.
[[Wally]]: Ah yeah.. they'd probably notice, wouldn't they? Haha! Man that would be funny though.
[[Bruce]]: Unless you have to.
[[Wally]]: Yeah, yeah, Brucie, I get it!
[[Bruce]]: Good, then it's time the public meets my... son.
[[Wally]]: Oh man this is gonna be great!
The two had a good laugh, Wally even choked a bit not being used to the tie. He was good for Bruce to have around, kept him on his toes. They left the room and walked down the hall, talking about S.T.A.R. labs, and Caitlin's idea about maybe being able to get him back home. They came down the stairs and Bruce and Wally stopped; Bruce gathered everybody's attention.
[[Bruce]]: Excuse me, everybody! Sorry to interrupt your good time, but before we get back to the main reason why we're all here, The Grayson's, I'd like to formally introduce everybody to my... son... Wallace Wayne.
Wally stood there, big smirk on his face and waving to everybody as some of the public applauded, and men like Cobblepot and Luthor just eye balled him.
[[Wally]]: They love me! They really really love me!

Post by Selina Kyle on Aug 5, 2015 3:46:06 GMT
Bruce Wayne was hosting a fundraiser for one Ricky Grayson, which for some reason did not surprise me. If he hadn't hosted one, I'd have assumed that there was something wrong with him. I also knew that his house would be full to the brim of people for more than one reason; one for Ricky Grayson and two, to see if Bruce Wayne was really alive or if it had all been just some sort of ruse. Heh, I could've told everybody he was alive while back I chuckle to myself as I stand in front of Wayne Manor dressed in a simple black dress that hugged my form just right and went just above my knees. I thought about wearing a floor length gown but I didn't want to worry about tripping over the hem of the skirt.
I clutch my little purse in my hand as I take a step towards the door, getting just that much closer to entering the building. I had been outside the Manor for at least twenty minutes, if not more. It'd be my first interaction with Bruce since he confronted me in his manor a few weeks ago. The emerald earrings that I'd stolen from Roman Sionis were in my ears and the necklace that Bruce had given me was on my neck, dangling just above my cleavage. I didn't know or care if Roman Sionis was going to be at this little fundraiser event or not, but I was going to flaunt the earrings whether he was here or not.
I pick up my step a bit, walking closer to the house and finally arriving in front of the door. What Bruce didn't know, didn't kill him right? And he only just gave me permission to sleep in his house if he didn't catch me, right? And that's just what I had been doing. When I wasn't out thieving from the rich to get by, I was sleeping in an unused dark room that he probably forgot about.
The place was buzzing as I step into the entrance area, the heels I was wearing click-clacking against the tiled floor. My eyes look up to see Alfred standing in front of me with an all knowing smirk on his.
"Well, if it isn't Miss Kyle. Are you here to steal some money from an orphan or are you here to break Mr. Wayne's heart once more?"
I just smirk at him before looking him over. He was such a charmer, that Alfred. However, one couldn't blame the man for being so...distant towards somebody like myself. After all, I had broken Bruce's heart. I hadn't meant to and I absolutely did mean it when I told him I loved him but I wasn't going to let him know that.
"You don't give me enough credit, Alfred. I am here for that poor little orphaned boy. I heard what happened and I just felt so...heartbroken over it."
I clutch my hand to my chest, over my heart feigning sympathy for the young boy that I absolutely knew nothing about. I knew that Alfred would see right through my little charade but I didn't care. Alfred holds his tongue before giving a curt nod and leaving me to my own devices. I let my eyes wander over the people that were scattered throughout Bruce's Manor and I smirk, looking at how the people talked to one another. They were more than likely trying to one up the other but neither of them knew that's what the other was doing. I step deeper into the Manor, feeling more comfortable in the house than I probably should have.
I stop mid step as my eyes land on him. I allow myself to look at him as he wasn't paying attention to me, not even realizing that I was here in his Manor. I had to admit he looked good--no, he looked absolutely gorgeous. I knew that my feelings for him were there and probably always would be but I wasn't going to let myself go there again; I wasn't going to break his heart again. I snap myself out of it, before letting a smirk slide over my face. If I wanted to get his attention, and let's face facts; I did, I'd have to go up to him to hand him the check for the donation I was giving to the young orphaned boy.
I walk into the other room, my eyes glancing at him every now and then as I got a little closer to him. I wanted him to see me before I walked over to him but he turns his back to me, to talk to somebody else. I just shrug before grabbing the check for $100,000 and I check the signature and I smirk as the signature was perfect. I walk up behind him, vaguely listening in on his conversation before clearing my throat.
"Do I give my donation to you, Mr. Wayne?"
I bat my eyes at him as he turns around, his eyes landing on me and I can't quite read the look in his eyes although, I'm sure it wasn't anything pleasant. But I had done what he'd asked, I'd stayed away from him and he hadn't heard anything from me since our last encounter. He didn't even know that I still used his house as a safe house and I was okay with that. But I was sure he knew that I'd raided his Batman stash of weapons. But I was sure he wouldn't mention that here. I hold out my hand, the check in between my fingers as I look at him intently.

It was strange but pleasant with Selina back in my sight. She respected my wishes and kept a low profile, well... low around Wayne Manor anyway. The sight of her still was quite the treat, she kept active and the dress she wore made that apparent. With Cobblepot still glaring in my direction, I held my index finger up to Selina and winked.
"One second.. or is that too long of a time to ask you to stick around?"
The shot was well warranted, Selina bit her bottom lip- very seductive indeed. Turning to Cobblepot I did the same to him- keeping my index finger up.
"Excuse me for a second Oswald, this guest seems to be lost, she's having trouble finding her way around. Hey- before I go, you're not gonna give her a sacred love pebble right?"
Another penguin joke, I couldn't resist. I saw his fist ball up as he was unable to answer me back without blowing his cover and losing face as Mayor. Sure, he was gaining momentum as the days ticked down but he'd mess it up somehow, I was assure of it. Winking at Cobblepot to rub the insult in his face, I turned to Selina and stuck my hand out in front of me-
"Follow me ma'am."
With a nod, I moved forward and saw Selina step up to walk along side of me as we approached the open bar.
"You've got some nerve showing up here, you know that?"
I didn't want to come across angry, rather- bothered. The less I saw of the woman was better as it gave me the chance to heal in her absence, but she refused to let that be. Whether or not it was intentional, Selina found ways back into my heart and would gash those wounds- rip the scab open and let me bleed out all over again. With a smile across her face, she shrugged her shoulders.. but before she could interject, I spoke over her- not very loud, but enough to be assertive.
"This isn't the right place for you to be, especially since Selina.. Kyle, doesn't exist anymore. What if someone who recognizes you spots you, then what? How are you going to spin the fact that every record imaginable has been wiped off of the face of the Earth. It's one thing to be sloppy Selina, but it's another to bring unwarranted attention to yourself."
Taking a sip from the champagne, I took it down as she sighed.. she knew I wouldn't let her speak. From across the room, I saw Alfred looking in my direction who in turn shifted his eyes toward Cobblepot who seemed to be on his phone- I'd definitely like to know who he was speaking to at such an inopportune time. Using my thumb to scratch my right brow, I cocked my head back just a bit and forced a smile as I turned very light towards Selina.
"I didn't know you had any money Selina, I'd ask how you're going to offer a donation.. but I wouldn't want to be an accessory to robbery."
"Are you done lecturing me yet daddy? I swear I'll be a good girl, I'll do all my chores and put all my toys away when I'm done!"
Her sarcasm was on par with mine, it was quite impressive. Laughing at her remark, I shrugged my own shoulders.
"Keep it up and I'll have to ground you.. in Blackgate Prison with the rest of the criminals."
"Aw shucks, is that suppose to scare me? I'm not here to fight Bruce, I'm here to offer the poor boy a gracious sum of money that hopefully helps get him somewhere in the future. I know how it feels to fight and scratch from the bottom.. no-one should have to go through that fight poor and alone."
She offered the check back out to me as I reluctantly took it, all as I gazed it over and laughed- maybe a bit louder than I had wanted.
"Classy."
"I knew you'd appreciate it."
Nodding my head, I tucked the check into my chest pocket- this was good.
"The one hundred thousand dollar donation will definitely help the boy.. especially because it's one hundred thousand dollars of my OWN money. Nice touch Selina, glad your innovative nature hasn't escaped you yet. What's next? Are you going to turn my home into Selena de Casa and start a bed and breakfast?"
"Don't tempt me Bruce, I've got enough spare keys to do it."
"Now where was this entrepreneur in Italy where we could of had the life you seem to want? Oh.. She left, that's right. How silly of me to forget that- but thanks Selina, it's so very nice of you to donate money in my name. Your forgery skills are impressive, if not for that little tail on the "B" of Bruce, it'd be dead-on. Nothing a little practice can't fix, right?"
Taking another sip of champagne, I finished the glass and put it on the tray of a wandering bar-tender who was serving drinks as well. Scooping another up before she could step out of view, I held the glass up in between Selina and I, in a toast manner.
"I'd like to call a toast to the sneakiest little vixen I've known- Miss Selina Kyle. What would I do without you?"
"You'd have an extremely boring life I suppose."
"Cheers to that."
With another sip in the books, I looked at the guests that the fund-raiser had amounted and had an instant hit of pride as the event was a success. There was the 'who's who' of the East Coast- including Luthor and Cobblepot. With Cobblepot having excused himself from sight probably due to the heat his waddling-self couldn't take, Luthor was like a peacock, flashing his colors to try and upstage me. I knew that the chance I wouldn't like him when I begun to look into him was there.. but this assured it, I couldn't stand the smug chap- we'd cross paths soon, maybe as the event simmered down. For now, since Selina was here I figured I'd remain in her company as I did miss her, no matter how good of a front I put on that I didn't.

Post by Oliver Queen - The Green Arrow on Aug 5, 2015 16:10:58 GMT
It would seem that for the most part things were running pretty smoothly for this fundraiser. Things had been going on for a few hours and so far not one madman had turned up seeking to kill everyone. Surely that was a new record in Gotham. But, as the say, the night is still young and who knows what is to come. Right now though what is to come is another pair of guests to the fundraiser. Into the main hall walked a rather dashing and handsome young man in a simple black tuxedo. Yeah, maybe he was a bit overdressed for this shindig but hey! Afterall he needed to at least somewhat looked like he belonged with his date; a beautiful blonde in an exequistely fitted pink dress. Upon their entrance into the hall there were hushed whispers amongst some of the wealthiest Gothamites. The man, who many recognized to be former Queen Consolidated CEO Oliver Queen, leaned in to his date and whispered as well. Oliver: I told you that everyone was going to be talking Felicity.Felicity Smoak, the recent owner of Palmer Technologies, leaned back against her beau. Felicity: Don't worry about them Oliver. She paused. Felicity: I can't believe you wore the tux that you wore to John an Lyla's wedding. Oliver gave Felicity a "Really? I mean really?" kind of look before responding Oliver: Sorry but my only other suit is the "green" one. I didn't think Wayne would want the Arrow.. Felicity: Ah-hem; "green" Arrow... He sighed. Oliver: I didn't think he'd want the Green Arrow crashing his fundraiser. Besides, I told you I didn't want to come. Felicity: Oliver! This is a fundraiser for a young man who just lost his parents in a terrible accident. Surely you can relate if anyone.....Well I guess Bruce Wayne can too...actually. Hmm. Anyways, this'll be good for you. The last time you were in the public eye Captain Lance had you pinned as the Arrow. Then when we, well, Roy took the heat off you, nothing. Queen narrowed his eyes a bit. Oliver: I'm still not happy about that Felicity. Especially since John helped fake Roy's death so he could start a new life and I'm hearing rumors he's back up at his night job. That was something that Felicity was disappointed in as well. She, like Oliver, truly had wanted better for Roy than playing hero by night. He was a good kid who deserved a better life than that. Sure he was getting to save lives and people appreciated it, but what about his life? Some day or some night, there could be a thug who gets a lucky shot in. Then next thing you know Roy's getting a second funeral. And lets not even think about trying to explain how he was actually still alive in the first place. Bah! This night was supposed to be uplifting and good times! Felicity: Come on! Lets go present the biggest check I've ever written in my entire life to the host. Oliver: Must we? Felicity: Yes! Who would've ever thought I'd get to meet THREE billionaires in my life, and date two of them? Mom is going to be SO jealous. Ohmygod I can't wait to tell her. You think he'll let me get a selfie with the three of us? Another sigh from Oliver as Felicity dragged him towards Bruce Wayne and the lady he was standing with. This would be interesting to say the least.

I had been enjoying Bruce's company, even though I wasn't sure that he would say the same thing. He had the same attitude toward me as he did two or so weeks ago. Maybe it was a front or maybe it wasn't, I couldn't tell. I let my eyes look around the area as I stand next to Bruce, looking for my next target to steal from. I take a step closer to Bruce subtly as I see two people heading toward us and I try my best not to turn my nose up with a sneer. The girl looked like a girl that didn't understand the word no and wouldn't take it for an answer. I roll my eyes before grabbing a flute of champagne from a waitress' tray and take a sip. I glance at Bruce before looking at the couple as they get closer to us.
"So popular, Bruce. It's almost as if you're more popular after your death."
I winked at him because after all, I knew that he was never dead or whatever story he chose to give to the media; he had been with me after all in Florence. I try to place a smile on my face as the couple approached us. I look at them, looking them over as I take yet another step inwards and closer to Bruce. I don't know why I did so, but something about the girl didn't seem right. I force a smile on my face as I drink some more of my champagne. I watch them as they approach, the girl seemingly pulling the guy along and he appeared to be dragging his feet. The thought made a smirk slip onto my lips as they approach Bruce and myself. I just watch, barely listening to the interaction with Bruce and them before their attention is brought to me, asking for my name. I pause, pursing my lips together as I try to come up with a hurried response. After all, Bruce was right; there was no Selina Kyle, she'd been wiped out of the system. So I had to think of a proper name and fast or at least a response.
"Mrs. Wayne."
The name rolled off of my tongue before I could even stop it but I didn't want to correct myself either; that girl looked as if she was about to pee her pants in excitement in being in the vincinity of Bruce. I know I didn't have any claim to the man anymore but I still felt that he was mine and I wasn't about to let her dig her claws into him. I glance at Bruce, a smirk in my eyes as I tell them that I was hs wife. Was it true? No, but did they need to know that? And it was the first thing that came to my mind when asked about my name or who I was. I couldn't tell them that I was Selina Kyle, that'd raise eyebrows and I didn't need that sort of attention to myself.
Before I even knew what was happening, a camera was being shoved in my hands and I was being asked to take a picture of Bruce and the duo. I scowl a bit before snapping the picture. I hold up a finger.
"Hold on, let me see if it's a good one."
I look at them, making sure that they were distracted before taking the memory card out of the camera and pocketing it into my clutch purse all within a matter of seconds and then snapping another one. What was I going to do with somebody else's memory card? Well, if she is who she says she is, there is always options out there. I fake a smile before handing the blonde back her camera to watch as she looks at the picture that I'd snapped after pocketing the memory card. I try my best not to roll my eyes before stepping back next to Bruce, almost as if I was staking claim to him. Even though, I'd lost that right years ago.

Post by Wallace West - "Kid" Flash on Aug 6, 2015 5:38:23 GMT
Mrs. Wayne? Ha! That was as big of a phoney identity as Wally being Bruce's illegitimate son, but then again that was to serve as a cover up while Bruce and S.T.A.R. Labs worked on getting Wally back home, and Wally would be helping Bruce out. I mean.. not to mention he knows all the secret identities and all. I mean OLIVER QUEEN?! The freakin' Green Arrow is here! Blue Beetle is here, too! The Bat, The Cat and those evil doers Lex Luthor and Penguin... keeping in mind Wally knows ALL of this because he IS from 2040, everything that's unfolded is documented and in books that are no where near close to being published yet. But Selena didn't rub well with Wally. She was making her impression felt... quite well to say the least and really getting under Bruce's skin but Wally could use this opportunity to REALLY mess with her. WHY NOT!? Wally was talking with some of the guests, before muttering “excuse me one sec” and he walked up behind the duo of Bruce and Selena.
[[Wally]]: BRUCIE!..
And then he got in close and whispered to Selena…
[[Wally]]: The CAT!
Wally stepped back and laughed as she turned around and looked at him. First.. it was a look of shock like… dude… this is BRUCE’S kid? How did he never tell Selena about him!? And second of all… how does this kid even know who she is?! There’s no way Bruce would have told him… would he?
[[Selena]]: I’m sorry son, but I’m afraid you must have me mistaken for somebody else.
[[Wally]]: Don’t you worry your cute little head Selena Kyle… The Cat is safe with me! Ha ha.
[[Selena]]: Bruce, what kind of a sick joke is this?!
[[Bruce]]: No joke… dear… just a young adult with a bit of ADD and quite the wild… yet surprisingly accurate sense of imagination.
[[Selena]]: So you told him this!? You’ve know him for a whole couple of days and…
[[Wally]]: Whoa lady, chill, chill! We’re all friends here, aren’t we? I mean if you can pretend to be his wife in public by day and a cat burglar by night… well maybe I’ll put on a mask and cape and be black superman! With a mask even! Heavens to Mergatroid! A little Snagglepuss for ya there because I’d gladly snaggle your…
[[Bruce]]: --Wally--
[[Wally]]: What? I was gonna say coat. Sheesh, can’t a guy be respectful nowadays?
[[Selena]]: Sure, kid. But if you haven’t noticed I don’t even have a coat…
[[Wally]]: Well what’dya know?! Haha it’s okay cat.. Brucie won’t let ya out of the bag this time… or will he?! DUN DUN DUN!!!
[[Selena]]: Bruce… seriously… where did you find this kid?
[[Bruce]]: Oh you know.. just an old fling back in the college days. I’d say he’s got my eyes though.
[[Selena]]: …
She didn’t know what to say at first. It had to be evident that Selena didn’t believe him, or Bruce but the kid knew her secret so she really couldn’t do much. SCORE! What? Can’t a narrator celebrate for once?!
[[Selena]]: I guess he does. I’m sorry.. I don’t believe I caught your name…
[[Wally]]: Wallace Wayne, my dear, at your service!
Wally gave her a bow with a big smile and she extended her hand to shake his. He grabbed her hand but she went in for a hug, reaching into his back pocket at the same time while Ted had come up and was speaking with Bruce for a moment. She used that distraction to grab his wallet because she was curious who this kid really was but Wally knew better. Just as she took his wallet and stuck it into her purse, Wally used his speed to take it right back from her. The two separated and she gave him a big smile.
[[Selena]]: Well it’s quite well to meet you Wallace. I suppose we’ll be seeing a lot more of each other in the near future. But why don’t you go run off like a good little boy..
[[Wally]]: Well Miss Cat… heh, you’d LOVE to know how I know that one, heh, and it’s not Brucie! And I AM Twenty-Four, dear. Plenty old enough to know you, who you are and what ya do, babe! Oh… and by the way…
Wally pulls his wallet out of his pocket and shows it to Selena, then WHOOSH, he’s right behind her. Yeah… he was being a little reckless but for those that saw they could just blame it on the drinks. But, Wally was also faster than that and most people would assume since he went just from in front of her to behind her. Easily misunderstood if not paying attention. Once behind her, Wally whispers in her ear.
[[Wally]]: Gotta be faster than that… CAT!
Wally smiles and WHOOSH he’s back in front of her, and with a nod and he shakes Bruce’s hand, he heads back upstairs. Bruce has a smirk on his face that he tries to hide because Selena would have no idea what just happened. Interesting world we live in, eh?!

To say this situation was a mess would be putting it lightly, it was a disaster. Selina was calling herself Missus Wayne, Wally had convinced enough people he was my illegitimate son and now I had Oliver Queen in my presence. When I threw this fundraiser together, I had expected a set of guests that I could profile and keep tabs on- Oliver Queen wasn't one of them. After returning and Wallace putting it out there, I did some digging regarding the man called "The Arrow" of Starling City, and the one glaring similarity that I couldn't help but to shake was how... he appeared, magically, when Oliver returned from his shipwrecked voyage. The story was too similar to mine- The Rise of The Bat and Rise of The Arrow were two of the same. I couldn't quite prove it yet, I had ran several face scanning programs to get a match on Queen and The Arrow, but often times the best I could get was a 69% match and that's not good enough.
"Mister Queen, Oliver.. right?"
Playing naive was a skill I developed to fine tune the Bruce Wayne adult personality. If I showed too much of how high level of a thinker I could be, someone like Queen would easily pick up on it. I had my suspicions, but I needed to be sure- a 31% more sure.
"I wasn't expecting your company, but welcome! I see you brought your.. wife... with you?"
Again, acting naive, I knew who that was. Felicity Smoak, I probably knew more about her than Oliver did- unless of course, Queen WAS The Arrow and shared similar taste in technology as me. I didn't know what to think of him just yet, but there was definitely a competition I had formed in my mind. There was only room for one successful, strikingly handsome survivor- and it surely wasn't he."
"I've.. been reading up on your life Oliver, I must say you've lived one for the ages. Shipwrecked.. survived on an island.. then fought through the issues at Starling City, it's impressive.. it really is. Plus, how could anyone forget about your charitable donations? Your philanthropy? You sir, are the golden standard of what an American should be."
Queen's eyes alerted me that he sensed the sarcasm, good. If he really was The Arrow and he was as smart as I pegged him to be, the possibility that he knew The Bat's true identity was also a possibility. Whether or not my paranoia would be proved to be true remained a story for another time but just as I did with John Blake, I'd test Oliver. I thought of it as more Chess than Checkers, I wanted to see how far Queen could out-think me before I'd consider him an equal in terms to what we do when we protect our city.
"Wow.. How rude of me, Oliver and .. Missues Queen, allow me to formally introduce Paige O'Reilly- my EX-WIFE. Right before I was taken hostage, we had a small ceremony on Wayne Manor grounds.. That's why I joke that it was all a ploy by Paige to get insurance money. Fearing safety though, she dropped the "Wayne" from her name after the divorce, all she wanted was alimony, isn't that right.. dear?"
Flashing a toothy smile in Selina's way, two could play her game. She seemed uncertain whether or not she bought Wallace's act, she knew everything there was to know about me so this coming up as a surprise definitely caused some shock-waves.. But per usual, whenever she felt threatened she would become possessive, a show that of course she's still into me.. sucker. The look on her face was priceless though, she didn't know me for putting her on the spot like I did- especially in front of a potential target for her illegal ways like Queen or Smoak. I noticed when I said Oliver's name, Selina's eyes lit up as even though the public thinks he's broke, the Queen Family is to Starling City as what The Waynes were to Gotham. There was absolutely no doubt that within Queen's home, there were priceless works of art and costly jewelry, I had anticipated Selina's moves and possible robbery of Queen's home.. another test for how good he was. I also figured that Queen had someone that worked with him, the equivalent to my Alfred ot Lucius Fox and with Felicity Smoak's impressive IT nature as well as her furthered education in all things technology- both hardware and software related, I think I knew who that aide was. The only question was.. was there more people associated with The Arrow? Did he have a plain-clothes ally? I'd find out, but for now.. feeling him out was a must.
"So.. Oliver, what brings you to Gotham? Anything other than the Grayson Fundraiser?"
As I waited on Queen's reply, I looked across the room at Alfred who saw me gaze in his direction and turned his head slowly to show Cobblepot still speaking with Gotham's Elite- all as Luthor was still charming the crowd. I was waiting for those two to cross paths, a lot would be said for their interaction... if they didn't move in that direction soon, I'd have to intervene and kick it into gear as I KNEW Cobblepot was dirty- Luthor gave off a meglomaniac vibe, but I couldn't and wouldn't do anything until I had concrete evidence. Looking back in Oliver's direction- I looked on.

Things at the docks... they weren't pleasant. Barry could do without seeing the dead bodies, especially killed in they way that they were. Hopefully Gordon could follow up on his lead and find out at least a good idea of where the Joker may be able to be. The clown was sickening but now… Barry had a benefit to attend. He spoke with Cisco and Caitlin and the entire CCPD when Bruce had announced this campaign and everybody together pooled in what they could and Barry was bringing a solid check for five thousand dollars. It was for such a good cause, and poor Richard Grayson, losing his parents that way… just a pure freak accident. Barry in his own degree lost his parents to a freak accident. Thawne coming back in time to kill Barry’s mom after he couldn’t get Barry and then in turn getting his dad blamed for it. Barry had a foster family, of course, and nothing to even compare to what Richard was going through, but Barry at least to a degree, could relate. But Barry was on the other side of the city so he had to rush. Luckily he had a bag with a suit in it for the special occasion and whilst running was able to change into it. Barry came speeding up on Wayne Manor’s front door before peacefully walking in. The very first thing that Barry sees is Bruce and Oliver talking. If this wasn’t a sight for sore eyes. Barry hadn’t seen or heard from Oliver for a couple of months since he and Felicity took off from Starling City and it looks like Gotham was their point of destination. Oh what a small world it was.
Barry\\ Oliver! Bruce!
Oliver didn’t even have a chance to say anything back to Bruce before Barry walked in. They both looked over at Barry, Oliver had a smile. The two over the time had become pretty good friends, big part in thanks to Felicity. Barry stepped into the building more, walking up to Bruce and shaking his hand.
Bruce\\ Barry! What a pleasure that you could make it! I thought I heard that you and Jim were a little busy down at the docks.
Barry\\ Yeah, we were. The Commissioner is tracking down a possible lead, but I got my job done and figured I’d come by. Oh! Also, needed to give you this.
Barry pulled the check out of his pocket and gave it to Bruce. He looked at it, and then back to Barry.
Bruce\\ Wow… well this is a definitely pleasure. Where did you manage to come up with it?
Barry\\ It was Cisco, Caitlin, Iris, Joe and everybody else down at CCPD, we all chipped in what we could.
Bruce\\ That’s great. Glad everybody could chip in.
Barry\\ It was our pleasure, trust me. By the way nice to see ya Oliver. Wondered what happened to ya.
Bruce\\ Oh you two know each other?
Oliver\\ You could definitely say that-- (Oliver said with a chuckle) A big part of it is thanks to Felicity.
Just as her name was said, she came up behind Barry and gave him a big hug. They were laughing and she caught Barry by surprise but it was great to see her and Oliver again.
Bruce\\ Great, so that means there’s no need for introductions. In fact, I just met Mister Queen, formally, just a few minutes ago.
Barry\\ Don’t let his tough guy exterior fool you. Oliver’s a softie.
Oliver\\ Well I don’t know about being a softie but..
Felicity\\ Stop it, Oliver! You are to!
Oliver\\ Well I guess I’m a softie then.
Finally! Oliver admitted it! Of course, just joking but Barry shook his hand.
Barry\\ Don’t be a stranger, Oliver, let’s catch up a bit later.
Felicity\\ Yes! Lets! I mean… you said you and Olliver.. but I’m with Oliver… okay maybe not WITH WITH… I think.. maybe I am… okay I am… but… not to intrude or anything but I just thought since you know, we all haven’t seen each other and…
Barry\\ Ha ha, Felicity, it’s okay, yes, all of us.
Oh that Felicity.
Barry\\ Hey Bruce, is Wallace around?
Bruce\\ Yeah, he’s upstairs in his room. Can’t miss it.
Barry\\ Thanks.
There was a nod and Barry lightly jogged up the stairs from the Wayne Manor lobby.
Oliver\\ So you two know each other pretty well?
Bruce\\ Let’s just say we met under… extraordinary circumstances. But back to my original question Mister Queen, what brings you and the misses to Gotham other than this fundraiser?
While those two began to speak, Barry approached Wally’s room, and it was almost as if he caught him off guard.
Wally\\ UNC! Good to see ya! So how’d the docks go?
Barry\\ Not pretty. There’s a possible lead that the commissioner is looking into, but there were bodies everywhere and it looked like the Joker just appeared and disappeared. It was so strange, but he definitely had it planned out. But the strangest thing was the shipping container full of drugs, just blown up. Most thugs don’t destroy drugs.
Wally\\ Weird, man. But it is Joker. He’s probably trying to call out The Bat, ya know? Now that he knows that he and Bruce are alive. I mean those two have a rivalry for YEARS, dude. He’s going to keep going all out. This is probably just the start.
Barry\\ If that’s the case, things are going to get really nasty and I hope Batman is ready for it.
Then, Barry’s phone wrang. It was Caitlin. Barry answered it, wondering if anything was wrong. Well, it turns out that with Barry in Gotham, they’ve been keeping an eye on it too.
Caitlin\\ Barry, Gotham Central Bank just got robbed by a motorcycle gang that… aren’t your average gang. The people like to call them the ‘Dark Riders.’ Be careful but stop them! If Wally is with you, use his help!
Barry\\ Yeah, he’s here, we got it! Keep an eye out and let us know where they’re going.
Barry then looks over at Wally.
Barry\\ Hey kid.. bank robbery, ready to run?
Wally\\ ALWAYS!
WHOOSH!
They were gone in a flash with a little breeze. They ran down the stairs, by Oliver and Bruce, both Wally and Barry dropping separate notes in their pockets. Wally knew Oliver was The Arrow, obviously, but Barry had no idea Bruce was The Bat, and Bruce had no idea that Oliver was The Arrow. Neither man wanted to give themselves away but both knew what ran by them. Keeping in mind as well that Oliver had no idea about Wally so that would be an interesting discussion for later. Felicity came up and gave Oliver a hug as if to whisper something into his ear to take the note from his pocket that he had called her attention too. Bruce would be able to see through this but they all had to keep it up, not knowing each other knew The Flash… or his nephew counterpart. Perhaps on their way to stopping them, they’d see Roy again.

Ted Kord walked up to Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak's, he knew Oliver's parents, especially Robert Queen and have met them few times. However though in the past three years there was only references to Ted Kord ' s KORD Industries. Last time Arrow showed up and stopped Tockman from stealing one of Ted's own special invention. Though Ted doesn't know that Arrow was Oliver Queen. He still thinks that Arrow is dead in the prison. He walks up to Felicity Smoak and Oliver.
Ted Kord : Mr Queen
Ted extending his hand at Oliver and then the two shakes hands firmly as they meet.
Oliver Queen : Mister Kord. I wasn't expecting to see you here. Are you here on a business visit ?
Ms Smoak : I think he's here to donate. Oh aren't you here donating for the kid. I mean not Bruce Wayne's son Wallace, the boy Richard Grayson.
Ted Kord : Ah Yes Ms Smoak, nice to meet you too.
It was Ted's way of acknowledging Felicity Smoak's quirky personality which many people are greatly fond of. Yes I actually already made my donation. By the way Mister Queen I heard The Queen industries, I mean the Palmer technology had a big explosion. Is Mister Ray Palmer okay ?
Felicity Smoak : Yes he is smaller I mean not his other size oh man that came out wrong.
Ted chuckled. Though Kord didn't able to get the reference at all and Ted doesn't know that Palmer is the Atom. Ted himself is destined to be a hero too, but at the moment he doesn't know that despite what Michael tells him about his infamous future.
Ted Kord : You're really amusing. I hope Mister Palmer is doing well and okay. Anyway you know I hope someday we could all hang out and talk. Especially you Mister Queen. However though it's nice to meet you.
Bruce Wayne then walks up to them.
Bruce Wayne : Mister Kord - Are you enjoying your evening ?
Ted Kord : Of course Mister Wayne. By the way I have a question. What are your plans related to the Wayne industries ? Will you be going back to work anytime soon ? Or Will Fox be running it for a whilst. I though needed some help. I am working on this technology called the 'Scarab'.
Bruce Wayne : Well I don't think this is the right time. There are so many people here. I am familiar with your work Mister Kord. You're a great inventor and your corporation did a lot of good. But we can talk about this some other time. You know just to be safe.
Bruce was right -- this isn't the right place to discuss something of this great importance. Ted doesn't know however that the 'Scarab' technology will one day help him and shape him to be a superhero. Ted does know that the technology is of an alien source. It is as dangerous and sensitive as any other technology.
Ted Kord : You're right. This is not the perfect time to talk about such a thing.
Ted looked around, notice that there was Lex Luthor in the hall. Kord never trusted Luthor. Personally he hated Luthor's guts.
Ted Kord : Anyway Mister Wayne I don't see the young Master Richard Grayson here ? Will he be joining us ?

Post by Lex Luthor on Aug 11, 2015 21:07:10 GMT
Laughter exploded from a well sized group of high society guests. In the center of that group? Lex Luthor of course. Lex still laughing slightly says, "And that's why to this day I can't step on the back nine without laughing."
A younger middle aged blonde woman who blends perfectly with the crowd says, "Lex, you are a true gem… "
Lex Luthor, "Don't I know it."
The group laughs again, Councilman Edwards amongst the heaviest laughers… That guy sure knows how suck up.
One of the indistinguishable men in the group says, "Lex, I want you to know I am a huge, huge fan." Lex Luthor, "And I want you to know that I think you have impeccable taste sir."
The group laughs as the guy, while chuckling says, "No, No, I'm serious. My broker urged me to add Lex Corp to my portfolio years ago and I've been counting money ever since. Every morning when I put on the stock report I swear I could kiss you!"
Lex Luthor gives a wink and fires the finger guns as he says, "Well how about ya don't and we'll call it even."
The group laughs again as Luthor just smirks. Putty. Wayne's guests were but mere putty in his hands. Had Luthor realized how easily he could win over the upper echelon of Gotham's society he'd have made a power play on this town years ago.
"Mister Luthor…"
Lex turned around as an opening his circle began, allowing a middle aged black woman room to step in. With the immediate room made way it was clear she was somebody important.
Lex Luthor, "Why Mayor Matthews… Might I just say your press hardly does you justice."
The Mayor smiles a polite politician's smile. She then looks to Councilman Edwards with clear suspicion as she says, "Councilman…"
Bill hardly hides his contempt as he replies, "Your honor…"
The Mayor turns back to Lex and says, "I hear you're interested in doing business in Gotham…"
Lex Luthor, "Dear, I'm interested in doing business everywhere… But I must admit these fine folks are making me quite fond of Gotham."
The folks around Luthor and the mayor all look quite pleased. They all identified with Luthor. In their minds he was one of theirs. And the fact that he was worth more than anybody in the building with the possible exception of Bruce Wayne himself –*possibly*- certainly didn't hurt his appeal with those who spent so much time focused on status. Throw in that Lex could be a pretty charming, charismatic fella when he wanted to be and it was understandable that the elitists were so enthralled with Lex and so delighted to hear they'd found their way into his good graces –or appeared to have anyway-.
Mayor Matthews, "Please don't call me dear. It's contentious."
Lex snickered slightly and said, "I'll keep that in mind, dear."
A few eyes drew wide as Lex turned his back to the mayor dismissively after his comment and began chatting with one of the socialites as if the Mayor wasn't even there.
Lex Luthor, "So anyway… before I got side tracked with that golf story I believe what you had asked me James, was what I thought about Puerto Rico defaulting, right?"
A man nods with sincere interest as Lex starts replying, all the while Mayor Matthews standing at his back now not only being ignored by Lex but by the group around Lex who had gone right back to paying attention to him. She shook her head and walked off. She could have retorted. She could have gotten into a confrontation with Luthor and perhaps, before she was elected mayor, she may have. But she respected the office of Mayor too much to be brought down into a tit for tat with Luthor at a charity event. If she saw him alone she might have a word with him later but out of respect not just for her office but for the cause –The young orphaned Grayson boy- and the respect for the reputation of Bruce Wayne, she wouldn't cause a scene.
As the mayor walked away, Luthor wrapped up a short but evidently insightful commentary on Puerto Rico drawing a lot of "Ohh…" and "Ahh" sounds from a very receptive audience.
"Lex?"
Lex turned back around, this time he saw a much more familiar face in that of the LexCorp Executive President Andrew James Harrington.
Lex, "ANDREW! What a pleasant surprise!"
Lex grabs AJ and snatches him to his side as he declares, "Folks, let me introduce you to my right hand man… The Executive President of Lex Corp, AJ Harrington."
One of the socialites chimes in, "Of course, Congresswoman Harrington's boy…"
AJ smiles sheepishly, "Guilty as charged."
AJ turns to Lex, "What are you doing here?"
Lex Luthor, "I've come to donate to a worthy cause… I'm not sure exactly what that cause is but by God am I gonna donate!"
The immediate crowd laughs. Realistically very few of them probably cared at all about the actual purpose of the fundraiser. For them it was all about hobnobbing with the rest of Gotham's wealthy and respected citizens. The donation was just the price of keeping your name in a positive light and networking with other one percenters. Of course none of them would admit that out loud and had they realized Luthor wasn't joking they probably wouldn't have let themselves get caught laughing at such a remark. That's probably part of what made Luthor so charming to this crowd, they were all a little like Luthor even if they didn't realize what the real Lex Luthor was truly like.
Lex Luthor, "What brings you here AJ?"
Andrew, "I read about the tragedy in the paper and heard about the Fundraiser. I felt that it'd only be appropriate Lex Corp be represented and donate to the cause. I didn't realize you were already coming…"
Luthor, "Well I wasn't but my new friend here Councilman Edwards told me all about it and as a man who was raised an orphan myself, this is a cause that really hits home for me."
Luthor seemed genuinely affected as he spoke about the Grayson tragedy. That was Luthor's gift, or at least one of Luthor's gift. He rarely felt any emotion about anything that didn't directly affect him and him personally but he sure could convincingly fake it when he needed to. He was certainly good enough at working the con to have the crowd around him all instantly feeling a combination of sympathy and admiration for Luthor's journey through life without parents.
Random Socialite, "What a testament it is to you and your dedication that you've gained so much from such a tragic beginning."
Other Socialite, "You know our host , Mr. Wayne, has a very similar life story, have you met Mr. Wayne yet?"
Lex's nostrils flared and for the first time all night an immediate impulse betrayed the mask of charm and charisma he'd worn since his arrival in Gotham. This was not the first time he'd had his life story and background compared to that of Bruce Wayne and it made him sick with disgust and anger whenever such a comparison was made. His life was nothing like Bruce Wayne's. Bruce Wayne saw mommy and daddy get shot, boo-freakin-hoo. So what? What the Hell did Bruce Wayne need parents for? He was a billionaire from birth. He grew up in a mansion with a butler and half of God damn Gotham named after his family! He wasn't born to a piss poor factory worker in the Suicide Slums! He didn't bounce around the foster system! He didn't have to use his own genius to actually invent something of grand significance in order to launch a business! He didn't have to scratch and claw to take his business from nothing more than a concept in own mind to one of the top Fortune 500 companies in the world! He didn't have to deal with or do any of that! Bruce Wayne was nothing more than a punk kid born with the right name. That was Bruce's "journey", his "accomplishment"… His last name was Wayne. It was a vile, disgusting and utterly offensive thought for Luthor to have Wayne's name next to his own.
Lex Luthor was not known for biting his tongue or keeping his impulses at bay. He was a fiery passionate individual. He had a reputation for being a pitbull in the board room and part of that was that he'd come off the chain at any provocation because as far as he was concerned he was Lex Luthor and he'd do and say whatever he damn well wanted. But, big things were at play here. He had vested a lot of planning and a lot of scheming in what he wanted to do in Gotham and you could be assured that his Hotel/Casino was the least of those plans. As such, to even his own surprise he resisted the overwhelming urge to say "F@%! Bruce Wayne" and quickly replaced his mask of charm and charisma, turning in his flared nostrils an burrowing brows for a lighter smile and a shrug.
Luthor, "I'm sure I've probably seen Bruce in passing somewhere. I don't recall but being that Wayne Enterprises and Lex Corp are both such diverse companies with so many different products and services being produced in so many different fields it seems our paths must have crossed at some point or another. I don't believe we've ever formally been introduced."
Before further conversation can be had, Councilman Edwards perks up, evidently spotting somebody of importance.
Councilman Edwards, "Alright, Alright… We'll be here for quite some time… Mister Luthor, I just spotted somebody you just have to meet…"
Luthor shakes his head, "This guy…. Evidently I'm on a short leash tonight."
The socialites laugh as Lex says, "Please, enjoy the rest of your evening and if you guys need anything, you all have the card, don't be afraid to use it."
Lex and Councilman Edwards head off leaving the socialites to discuss how pleasant meeting Luthor was because, I mean, what else would they possibly be saying? Right? Right. Anyway, Luthor follows Edwards until he comes to a stop at a heavy set fella in very nice Italian suit.
Edwards, "Mr. Cobblepot… Please allow me to introduce you to the CEO of Lex Corp, Lex Luthor."
And like that two sharks in custom made suits with grins as dangerous as any automatic weapon were about to meet for the first time and depending on how that meeting went, things in the cities of Metropolis and Gotham could be in track to change dramatically…. Forever.
