"I don't have to hold your hand, especially when you're making it easy on me by walking away like a child. I guess the dad remark was on point- is that what you are, John? Just a confused little kid? If that's the case, I don't have time to babysit you, I've got more pressing matters at hand. But by all means, if you want to leave- go ahead. Keep up your work in Bludhaven, carry that attitude with you.. you THINK you know what you're doing but what really separates you from the rest of the guys out there that's trying to fill my void?"
As much as I had faith in Blake, this was a mandatory test I didn't have the ability to run before I left the city three years ago. I know that his effort to clean up Bludhaven was stellar, crime had dropped drastically and according to Alfred- Blake was the driving reason that Cobblepot didn't have the ability to run for a second term in Bludhaven- it was Blake's actions that forced him out of the city and that was impressive. Cobblepot had kept his nose clean, but we went back and he's always been a snake.. nothing new now.
"Of course, if you decide to man up- meet me in The Cave and we can continue our conversation there. Do what you've gotta do Blake, I'm not telling you to do anything-"
Turning, I winked at Alfred as he returned the gesture.
".. son."
Moving ahead, I walked through the dining room and toward the Grand Piano- playing the three keys that cued the entrance to The Cave, by causing the opposite side bookshelf to slide open quietly. Walking through the passage, I would make my way down to HQ.. I had a feeling Blake would follow, but you could never be too sure.
